Mucuna dosage help please
Can any of you bright folk help me out with the dosage here please. I take this mucuna powder 99.6% l-dopa. I find it really helpful. (See photo) Am I right in assuming that 1/8 tsp is 500mg which is equivalent to 5 senimet tabs of 25/100? Surely that can’t be right! What am I missing here??? (And

Statin use may have a detrimental effect (faster increase in levodopa & dementia conversion )

Parkinson's could be otherwise.
The patient had been diagnosed as usual, responded well to Sinemet (
levodopa
/
carbidopa
) and a SPECT DaT test confirmed the diagnosis. Neuroscientist Karishma Smart and colleagues published in 2016.

Typical med progression?
My friend started taking l-dopa within the past year. She works fulltime and her workplace isn't aware of her diagnosis. Currently she's taking 8 Sinemet 100mg daily, plus 3 or 4 Rytary 145mg. She also takes sleeping medication, and botox for curled toes. She's reading articles on DBS. Any advice

Side effects of levodopa. And you thought that your imagination was running wild.
https://www.drugs.com/sfx/sinemet-side-effects.html I recognize many of them as questions to healthunlocked. I have been dealing with some of them myself. Mary

Would Adding 10,000 IU a day of D3 would be a good thing to complement my Niacin 250 mg a day? Maybe NOT
Sometimes I'm Stupid. This is a re-write of my post extolling the virtues of vitamin D3 based on misreading a study and thinking down was up and left was right. I would just delete it but some people have seen it and I want the correction to be here. This is the trial from 2016 that had me excited:

Stopping meds
I wanted to see what the effects might be. How soon does the body deteriorate after stopping L-Dopa? I stopped Rytary 9 days ago. I've had two mild bouts of dizziness. And as can be seen on this shopping list my hand writing has gone from bad to worse. I wondered if there might be withdrawal

Is Carbidopa/Levodopa 8x’s a day to much when you have the DBS?
My setting is on 3.30 left side, 1.00 right side. My doctor seems to give me more medicine instead of turning it up and I feel like it is causing a lot more symptoms.

How long before levodopa stops working in Parkinson’s disease?
After taking levodopa for some time, typically a few years, patients may begin to experience a wearing off period, when symptoms return before it's time for their next dose of levodopa. This is also referred to as "off time.” Off time is common, and according to patient surveys, around half of patients

When to increase dosage of Carbidopa/Levodopa
Neurologist said well you can up your dosage of
Carbidopa
/
Levodopa
- do you want to do that? We both just looked at him and said no. With that he said see you in 6 months. I certainly could have called office or written a message to the doctor with questions via the portal. 1.

Levodopa/Carbidopa and vitamin C
I am sorry if this was previously discussed but I couldn't find it anywhere. I was told to take my L/C with Emerg-C but I just can't get it down. Can I take it with an Ascorbic Acid supplement instead?

Coronet Duo (Red Light) Success?
However, I posed the same question to my Parkinson’s nurse who basically said that approximately five hours after a dose of immediate release
carbidopa
levodopa
there is a "wearing off" and there is no further benefit.
