Further to my last post about Levo and joint pain I now need help to understand my blood results.
ng/ml (20 - 50)
Calcium
. 8.5. (8.6 - 10) Clearly I am under medicated but when I was on 100mg (during the first 3 months after surgery) I developed unpleasant side effects. Just started increased dose of 88mg.

Calcium Calculator
Has anyone found a
calcium
calculator app or online source? I am trying to get my
calcium
from sources other than dairy and finding it very difficult to find
calcium
content given in standard portion sizes.

You are not alone
Asked my PC if I could try
calcium
and vitamin D first because I was so afraid of the side effects. I regret waiting now because things got worse. I talked it over with my dentist and she set my mind at ease by telling me she had many patients who took Alendronate with no problem.

Calcium supplements not good for you
I've read that
calcium
supplements cause calcification and that it's better to get
calcium
from diet. Then I learned that the body can only absorb 500 mg at a time and that vitamin d is needed with
calcium
.

LOSING HAIR.....AGAIN
It is very annoying I didn't notice this much hair falling out until I was put on Sensipar/cinacalcet again (took it for years for parathyroid issues while on dialysis, but now post-transplant was prescribed it for high
calcium
). Anyone else notice lots of hair loss months after a transplant?

Calcium

Calcium
(albumin-adjusted): Value 2.50. Range 2.20-2.60 mmol. Phosphate: value 1.00. Range 0.87-1.45 mmol. I had a Dexa scan last week, my last one was in 2015 when they diagnosed osteopenia, so not sure what to expect from this one.

Is mineral water good or bad?
I now realize I've gained 10 pounds that might cause other health issues if I don't stop it I take a few supplements, (D3 and K2 MK7) but everything I[i]'ve read suggests the best absorbability for
calcium
and magnesium, besides the sides effects of too much. is through diet.

Lactulose and Bones
I have just been reading that lactulose inhibits bone loss in post menopausal women AND increases absorption of Vit D,
calcium
and magnesium. Has anybody else come across this?. It seems too good to be true.

Collagen for bone health
I researched it and found that it's helpful for bones, but no one talks about it like we talk about
calcium
. Should we be taking collagen?

Thyroidectomy
My
calcium
levels were very good. Got a call from GP Pharmacist informing me I needed to have a blood test in six weeks time to check my Levothyroxine levels. As a result of the blood test my results were TSH 0.30 and T4 26.1 (out of range).

An interview with Dr Aileen Burford Mason - Magnesium deficiency
One important thing I noted was that
calcium
intake is must alongside magnesium. Why? Watch it for details. You will not find this interview from anywhere else. So watch it before the links expire https://disk.yandex.com/i/8MSfHik5gElogQ Or https://we.tl/t-wfXiVfN7nt

Why does every country have different dosage recommendations for calcium, as well as other vitamins?
., the guideline is to get 1200 mg of
calcium
if over a certain age and to get 800 iu's of vitamin d. How can these numbers differ depending on where you live? A fact is a fact, no matter what country it's in.

Our friend LYN-PARZA
Side effects are low white counts and he had to stop xgeva for a while due to low
calcium
levels. We are scheduling blood work every 14 days to check to make sure he can stay on the 4 pills a day dosage. We are remaining very active and walking on this frozen tundra as much as possible.
