Calcium Calculator

Has anyone found a calcium calculator app or online source? I am trying to get my calcium from sources other than dairy and finding it very difficult to find calcium content given in standard portion sizes. It would be great if there’s an app that can track my calcium consumption for the day, but I haven’t discovered one yet. Maybe this is something I could find embedded in a more general nutrition app? Any suggestions appreciated.

Don’t know about an app but this might help you - it is from the Royal Osteoporosis Society which is U.K. based but calcium rich foods are calcium rich foods.I like how I can top up my calcium throughout the day with foods that I like rather than pints of milk etc that I don’t like.

But the calculators only give a part of the story.

If you are eating packages/processed foods you will need to refer to package labels.

And remember serving sizes are important. You will often hear that an 8 oz serving of dairy including yogurt = 300 mg of calcium. But 8 oz = 227 ml. and a single serving of container of yogurt may only contain 150 ml. Some math may be required.

I like my fitness pal and cronometer. You can scan labels for food you eat, add supplements. Hardest part for me is remembering to use it.
