Blood tests showed high levels of
Calcium
and a diagnosis of Hyperparathyroidism was made. However pain increased despite very large painkiller doses and I was eventually diagnosed (after many many diagnostic tests ) with PMR in December.

Being referred for an angiogram and anxious
However, my cardiologist said that with atypical chest pain, the findings of the
Calcium
Score in 2018, and the findings from my Myocardial Perfusion Scan, he is referring me for a Angiogram.

Pins & Needles (Calcium Absorption & Seizures)
This is because in addition to B12 it also affects
calcium
absorption and other micronutrients. (Please take care though because too much
calcium
also causes issues. ) I think this excellent article explains it pretty well: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7828248/

Bisoprolol alternative to avoid cold extremities
So given the
calcium
beta blocker didn't work, are there any alternatives that people with similiar issues have had success with and that I can discuss with my GP/cardiologist? Thanks, Greg

atrial, fibrillation, and electrolyte imbalances
., and this is a key ingredient of Rennies… Some of the research, I have been reading suggests that the ratio between
calcium
and magnesium is very important, but I am reluctant to go down this rabbit hole, because I don’t have a good sense of what my electrolyte balance is right now, and so on.

Gemcitibane/intravenous zoledronic acid
I was given intravenous zoledronic acid which, although it worked to lower the
calcium
, caused me a lot of nasty and painful side effects, some of which I'm still suffering now, still living on painkillers, so I am very reluctant to have that drug again.

Irregular platelets in PD
My current
calcium
is high - 2.72, and a few years ago I decided not to go on thyroid meds (I couldn't deal with the idea of yet more meds) after being diagnosed with slightly high TSH. Was I an idiot? Has anyone here with PD also been diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism?

They cleared one easily but the other one (the ‘widow-maker’) was so clogged with
calcium
that they couldn’t get through and eventually had to rotablate (drill). I’m fortunate that they had a connection with Harefield (hence my name) where a truly wonderful surgeon was a rotablation expert.

Cirrhosis or PBC ?
Even a
Calcium
CT Score came back with 0,0,0. No build up or blockages. They did a Lipid Panel breakdown and while his cholesterol is through the roof, his Triglycerides are normal.

Need help finding Diet App for tracking dietary intake
I have been monitoring my intake but no formal or efficient way to track daily intake: protein, sodium, potassium,
calcium
, phosphorous, sugar, fat, calories, etc.I also track water intake, which is much easier. I've been writing down what I eat, but this is so time consuming.

Pelvic floor therapy after menopause
Hi, I am in the US, so a few things are different, but I am looking for help. I have MS, and I have muscle tightness or spasticity in other places as well as pelvic pain and tightness of my hip flexors. When I the hip pain worsens, so does the pelvic pain. I found a specialist who wants me to use vaginal

Also Inspired by Paul's Post: beta blocker vs. calcium channel blocker
After a few months of no meds (besides apixaban), my cardio and I tried the
calcium
channel blocker Cardizem (diltiazem). It has worked MUCH better, reducing the number and frequency of episodes. It does dampen my pulse, but my BP seems to be holding steady.

CAD and OMT/STATINS
My flow factor in my LAD is borderline at 0.81 so close to flow limiting but not quite enough for a bypass (diffuse disease) or stent (
calcium
score 700 on the LAD so difficult) - anyway they didn’t stent me and have put me on long term statins and advised me to change my lifestyle.

Has anyone else been diagnosed with hypercalciuria (excess calcium in urine) causing osteoporosis?
I wonder if these could be enough to improve my
calcium
leakage.

Sharing good news
my consultant said he was surprised that the results were so positive due to my many years as as a smoker. ( not smoked for ten years) The upshot was
calcium
score 132 I’m 66. LAD mildly blocked. So with meds and more lifestyle changes sounds manageable at this time.

DEXA Results
I exercise five times a week and do some light back exercises with bands and take appropriate
calcium
and D. I also take 25 mg levothyroxine for my thyroid, but those numbers are fine.
