Dealing with extreme depression
Hi all, This is my first posting on here as my wife was diagnosed approx 2 months ago, but we're certain she had this condition unrecognised for years. The biggest challenge by far for Jen and for me is handling her very extreme depression and horrendous anxiety. She's suffered this on & off for many

Chemist dispensing levo in packs of 25mg is this ok please? Asking for my son
The chemist is giving my son his 125m levo in packs all in boxes of 25s is this ok? He’s on MP and was getting pack of 100 and another pack in 25mg but now chemist has changed it. He is concerned that taking his daily dose like this could be a problem. Also His blood test said he has Very low calcium

Few quick questions if anyone would be kind enough to reply
says on the packet each tablet contains 1500mg
calcium
carbonate
(=600mg
calcium
) and 400 I.U. cholecalciferol (=10 mg vitamin D3). and yet ive noticed some people on here are taking far more than that. Is this the correct dose? and why would people be taking more?

New study from Japan. When I was diagnosed there was a clear association between dairy & PCa (particularly mortality). The smoking guns: calcium (inhibits hormonal vitamin D) & IGF-I (it promotes rapid growth in babies.) The years rolled by & suddenly, dairy was safe. & now?

Dexa scan
I discussed the results of my dexa scan with my GP yesterday, he said that although the scan was normal that because i have been taking preds long term he wanted to prescribe me Aledronic acid and that should also continue taking the accrete d calcium tablets. I must admit that I am not keen on taking

Electrolytes and postpartum psychosis
Hey!Recently i read an article, where it was explained that lithium is used as a mood stabilizer due to its capacity to have an impact on ionic in-cell balance and also on transportation of ions of sodium and calcium between cells. And that the imbalances of sodium may be one of the causes of depression

Have really bad stomach pains/constipation since changing to the chewable tablets. Anyone else?
I have been taking Caltrate calcium + Vit D3 supplements for over a year with no problems at all. Sadly I can't get these in Cyprus anymore so I've bought an alternative called Natecal D3, which are chewable. I've been taking them for 4 days and have developed bloating, wind, constipation all day

FINALLY!!!! answers after all these years
Hello everyone. I have not been on for awhile for many reasons, mainly trying to figure out what was really going on with me. After 20+ years of being told I have PBC, I was diagnosed with NOT having PBC, but drug induced liver injury. Seems it mimics PBC, so I have the symptoms, but not an autoimmune

Turning Point?
Today, 30th sept.2021. The best I have felt physically and mentally in over 12 months. I genuinely feel like I once did when "normal". Even the slight hip issue which is 30 years wear and tear properly back and entirely manageable. Posture needs adjusting so my hip drop exercise paramount now. Weight

Are you worried about purity of supplements
Here is an article from Hardys on their testing. If you are taking many of the ingredients individually why not try switching to Hardys with extra vitamers at least for a trial to see if it makes a difference to you. https://www.hardynutritionals.com/blog/2021/09/purity-and-testing-we-only-source-the-best

Methotrexate? Is it too soon to go onto this drug
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2020 and have found this forum invaluable over the past 13 months. This is my first post as so far I have always found the answer to my questions somewhere on the site. However on this occasion I would really appreciate some advice. I’ve just updated

Magnesium
As we know magnesium can become depleted, especially if we take calcium supplements, so some of us supplement our dietary intake of magnesium. Here is an interesting article described ten different kinds. By the way, magnesium is to green plants what iron is to animals, so it is relatively plentiful
