What dosage of calcium supplement is recommended when on prednisolone?
I'm on 7.5mg of prednisolone. At my rheumatologists appointment today I advised him that I wouldn't be taking up his recommendation of Alendronic Acid despite having a very small amount of osteoporosis in my lower lumber region. I advised him that I was taking Caltrate which has 600mg calcium/200 IU

Blood clots, pre eclamsia in first unsuccessful pregnancy. Now looking for a ray of hope in second.
Hi I am looking for some positive pregnancy stories. I had a stillbirth last year at 24 weeks gestation because of early severe pre eclampsia. Later developed extensive bilateral dvt all the way up to my heart. The doctors said it was an acquired thrombophilia. I am on blood thinners and still residual

Supplement
I am looking for a good calcium citrate with D and K3 in a chewable or gummie. I have esophageal spasms so if I buy a pill to swallow I am defeated. I just won't be consistent with swallowing a pill due to the spasms.

Symptoms improved. Plan of action going forward. Do’s and Dont’s
Hi All. Increased Pred from 20 to 25 mg six days ago. Symptoms have improved markedly. Blood test results from yesterday also going in the right direction. CRP down to 22 from 106 (still too high though). ANCA test for vasculitis was a weak positive but the follow up tests were normal. PV tests gone

Scared!
Over the last year I have been getting palpitations and feeling out of breath more easily than I think I should for my age - I am only 49. In recent months I've noticed a tightness in my chest when I walk for more than 10 minutes walk quick, up hills or up and down stairs too much or too quick running

Supplements during Covid
Hi Is it wise to take supplements as suggested widely by the general public as a means of providing immunity because of covid 19.? Its concerning since immunosuppressants are doing the opposite. I think 🤔 I know of people loading up on zinc, vitamin C & D, etc. I'm just on my regular multivitamin

Sardines on Toast. Under the grill, or not?
I need to up my calcium intake, but haven't had sardines on toast since I was a child. I can't remember if you put the sardines on the toast, and then under the grill (like cheese), or if you eat them cold on the toast? I do remember that when I was old enough to make my own that I used to take the

I thought it was thyroid but seems to be calcium deficiency
Hi, I recently have been very tired, depressed, very forgetful and fatigued and recently waves of dizziness (yesterday and today - feels like an inner ear thing). I thought that perhaps my hashimoto's was playing up but no, I went to the doctor for blood tests and they did a full blood count as well

Hello, I have been taking probiotic spec for the gut, 25 billion live bacteria; it also includes digestive aid and vegan calcium. It’s been roughly 3 months and for the past 2-3 weeks I started to get diarrhea. At first thought it was my medication or vitamin? Someone mentioned that probiotics can

Information about REMS Echolight scan for osteoporosis
Does anyone have experience with this new type of bone scan that measures both bone density and bone quality? It has been used in Europe but is relatively new to the US. I am interested in this because I have very low DEXA scores in my spine -4.1 and hip -2.8. No fractures to date but my doctor would
