My Rheumatology consultation by telephone today was such a positive experience. I cannot express adequately how relieved and emotional I was to have a Rheumatologist not only listen but want to help. I just had a look online at my gp records and my blood tests that the professor requested have all come back normal within range.the b12 result was over 1999 which is to be expected as I’m supplementing and the folate was over 10 which I’m delighted with.the tests for diabetes and calcium came back within

Omeprazole or not?
Hello everyone Your responses to my first question were so helpful and now I have one more to ask! Last week, I had the second appointment with a dr in the rheumatology department and he prescribed Omeprazole to be taken once a day to line my stomach. Apparently, I would be at risk of stomach ulcers

Keto/low carb?
Hi there! I’m brand new to PMR and prednisone and really want to keep my weight and blood sugars in check. I’ve gleaned from the forums that most people do this with a low carb type diet. To that end, I have joined dietdoctor.com as someone had suggested. They have what looks to be an easy 2 week keto

Still waiting on endo to contact me
Hi everyone ♥️ I just wanted to ask if I'm being unreasonable in wanting my endo to get back to me.. I sent an email to my endo regarding my blood results as my gps receptionist said they themselves could not obtain them due to them being on the ICE system, I sent her the email on the 30th June 2020.

Calcium Channel Blocker's and Nocturia.
Has anybody noticed an increase in Nocturia since taking CCB's? I am taking Amlodipine in the evening and noticed an increase in Nocturia. Every morning at about 03:30 I am awakened by a familiar and unwelcome urge....ok, it's very common in over 70's, but it's fairly new to me. Problem is I rarely get

Parathyroid
Why does the doctor check for parathyroid hormone when he does all my husbands lab work? What will the parathyroid show them it says it low and his calcium level is high what does all this mean?

Low Calcium
Hello, I don't know if this forum is the appropriate one, but I need to get a malabsorbsion mystery solved. I have just received a call from GP regarding blood test results. She mentioned that my calcium is still under range. She asked me if I eat high calcium food. I told her that I crave dairy products

Hi everyone ❤️ Not been on here for a while, I'm just lost.. my app with the endo was cancelled AGAIN... 3rd time now... I was seeing him due to calcium being raised on last 2 blood tests.. As I was diagnosed in March 2004 with hyperparathiyroidism I thought I would have been seen as the doctor locum

Imbruvica-related issues: Qs + comments
The following are questions and comments I'll be asking my oncologist when I see him tomorrow. I believe at least some of them might be relevant to what some among us are experiencing and research some of us are engaging in. Clearly, none of the comments here are meant to be authoritative nor intended
