High TSH, mid f T4 graves ablated thyroid now on thyroxine
Hi I had overactive graves thyrotoxicosis which was ablated using Radioactive iodine. The TSH levels are currently (Aug 19) 4.42 (range 0.3-5) and free T4 12.2 (7.9-16). I have gained weight and also have PCOS but heard that ideally TSH should be lower than 2 to be optimal. My doctor said as it’s in

Just managed to talk my consultat about not having RAI and Give the block and replace another go. He said if I have another relapse that i will have to go for it. Why do they push RAI over block and replace? Surely as we know that once it's done it's done and no going back. I am 42 and dont want to give

Monthly inj
Hi everyone, hope your all coping with lockdown. The new consultant (same clinic) I've been seeing since January after reading my notes put me on monthly inj....I think it's because other consultant kept me on 8 weekly even though they stopped inj in left eye due to scarring ( I was told)...although

Help for severe possible endo pain?
Hi, I’m currently awaiting scans and a laparoscopy to diagnose probable endometriosis but this has been significantly delayed due to doctors complacency and then the covid outbreak. Every period I have is utter hell. The flow and pain are severe, and I can barely leave bed. Going to the toilet also

Can't honestly cope with the brokenness of me, completely and utterly at the end of my rope
Hi everyone, I have just joined this community. I have had M.E for 10 years now, and along with that comes the depression of having this debilitating illness steal my life, but these last three weeks have been just unbearable. I am so used to living with pain, and have also been suffering with PTSD

Bleed during Eylea Injection
Hi, hubby had his 17th Eylea injection yesterday for BRVO. Good Covid arrangements in place and he was the first appointment 👍👍 or so we thought. He zoomed in after a temp check but patients came out and he didn’t appear! The usual excellent nurse injectors were there, who fill him with much needed

Thyroid/Afib issues
Hi, I need some help please! I have PAF so on daily dose of 5mg warfarin but for years I've had thyroid issues which are dealt with by taking 100 mcg of thyroxin every day. Been speaking with a Naturopath lately and she told me to do an iodine test which involved dropping some iodine onto my wrist

Pregnant (4 yrs infertility and recurring miscarriage) with (?) Hashimotos - SCARED!
I've had two miscarriages in the past in 2017 (have posted before)! Had bloods 15th June 2019: TSH 0.02 T3 7.9 T4 32 and a bunch of other stuff - I basically had everything tested prior to starting IVF. Couldn't start IVF because my thyroid was crazy. Further blood tests November 2019: TSH 3.76 T4

Advise please on Pregabalin
Hi, I’ve previously had advise when I was taking Ropinirole. I was on this drug for 11 years ended up augmenting and acquiring a gambling habit. I was advised to come off the Ropinirole which I did, taking a long and painful time doing so. I took a couple of Codeine to help me at the end. Since then

Help With Starting point with Cannabis
Hi everyone. After a really bad bout of RLS, I went to see a north west based Neurologist, who really understood RLS, and helped me walk through the options again from scratch. Iron is now over 90, and tried tramadol and codeine which didnt do a lot, and the final option he has asked the GP to give

Better work security and rights for us
Ok so I only recently joined this endo group as I was made to believe by a certain consultant the pain is all in my head, I was addicted to codeine or just wanted an op!! I read everyone’s comments, see how much it affects our daily lives and get angry. Endometriosis is a debilitating disease so why

Do we have Graves antibodies forever, even after RAI?
I was hyper in 1987, and in my medical records one endo mentioned Graves, and one mentioned Hashimotos thyroiditis. There's no record of any antibody tests, just high T4 and low TSH. I had carbimazole and PTU, but relapsed afterwards, so was given RAI in 1989, and have been very hypo ever since. I
