Going hyper after radioactive iodine treatment?
Does anyone have experience with radioactive iodine for hyperthyroidism? I did in the beginning of August to treat my hyperthyroidism and heart palpitations. At first they seemed to go away but lately I’ve noticed pretty bad shortness of breath while trying to talk to ppl and fast heart rate with palpitations

How to reduce your NHS waiting times?
Anyone have any advice for NHS waiting times? I’ve been ill for years and keep getting passed around to different doctors who keep doing tests that come back negative. I finally found out about endo, and went to my GP who couldn’t believe I haven’t been tested for it before. I’ve been referred to a gyno

American Thyroid Association "Foggy Brain" Survey
Members of The American Thyroid Association might have received an email inviting them to complete a survey on “foggy brain”. Afraid I have deep reservations about this. What is their motivation? All these years and suddenly they produce a survey? To what end? Will they take the results and apply them

Disappointing hospital visit
I’m absolutely gutted. I asked to see the specialist endo that was on the list of endos provided by thyroid UK and I didn’t get to see him. I’m hypo following RAI in 2011 and my health has got much worse within last couple of years or so. Last test results in the photo. (B12 range 200-900) So apparently

Any midnight treatments/ tricks to help sleep when Codeine hasn't worked and stem the attack?
I'm 28, Male and have been living with it for 10 years, on/ off and manageable in earlier life, it's progressively getting worse, especially recently as I've lost weight/ exercising more. Have tried Gabapentin and Iron supplements in the past to no avail. Usually it comes on like an attack either when

FIL treatment on hold to treat the lung
Hi guys. My FIL was diagnosed with PC 2yrs ago. He’s 81 now. It was picked up after a scan for a hip replacement. It had already matastised into his hip. Then was found in his shoulder too. Since then he’s had ADT and when that stopped working then he was on a trial drug (can’t remember the name). He

Reducing prednisolone slowly.....advice about withdrawal pains versus flare needed.
Good morning all . I was diagnosed with PMR in June this year and after initially responding well to 15mgs had to increase to 20mgs for 2 weeks before starting a very slow taper. My pain is so much better now ( virtually pain free on most days) and during September I started to slow wean from 14mgs to

Help with reading materials on Graves -> RAI -> Hypo
Hello - I have learned so much from this forum and I would really like to learn more so I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good reading material? Specifically interested to understand the importance of thyroid antibodies. And whether I should be continuing to look at these going forwards. I

Advice on my bloods and plan please?
Hi there, I am new here, I was referred because my bloods suggest subclinical hypothyroidism. I would love some input on my interpretation and plan if possible! I have plenty of the symptoms and it runs in my family. I am 28. I also have an MECFS diagnosis, and delayed cortisol production in the mornings

What are your thoughts on thyroid regeneration?
As far as I know, these are the ways you can become hypothyroid. One, you have a birth defect that causes hypothyroidism, Two, you have had radioactive iodine treatment. Three, you have had your thyroid surgically removed Four, you have hashis I'm told i have Hashimoto's, but I'm sure it was only by

Bit of a rant! I’m so disheartened by lack of care.
3 years ago a nodule was discovered on my thyroid during various scans for breast cancer. I opted to see an endocrinologist privately just so I could get away on holiday. I had blood tests and a biopsy and was diagnosed with sub clinical thyrotoxicosis. The option was given of monitoring with blood tests
