I’m currently awaiting scans and a laparoscopy to diagnose probable endometriosis but this has been significantly delayed due to doctors complacency and then the covid outbreak.
Every period I have is utter hell. The flow and pain are severe, and I can barely leave bed. Going to the toilet also brings me significant pain. I have pain and bleeding during sex too. I’ve tried everything from codeine to hot water bottles for the pain during my periods but at most they take the edge off. Does anyone have any suggestions for pain relief that has worked for them while I await treatment?
Thank you

Until your diagnostic tests are complete ask your GP if Mefenamic acid would help with the pain.
Us ladies who have Endo tend to tense our bodies when we have sex because we know it's going to cause us pain, have a chat with your partner and work something out until you get your tests done😉
Hi, I agree with Linley, Mefenamic acid helps me, I have had a Hysteroscopy and polyps removed, but still have 2 cysts on my ovaries, so waiting for bloods back, then it looks like treatment for Endometriosis will follow. There is also another acid which helps with flow and heavy periods too, perhaps ask about that. Good luck, and hopefully you get some relief soon.
