What is a patchy thing in lungs could be. Image shows small/big patches in upper and lowers lungs. No symptoms of cough/cold/weight loss.
Even after 2 months of medication there is no improvement in Xray and now with revised CT scan, Dr doubt it to be organizing Pneumonia/ fungal infection and suggested me to do
bronchoscopy
/ biopsy to confirm, what it is. What should I do.

Repeating tests again.......
Saw the respiratory cons last week and he has told me, my lungs are worse and has booked urgent tests as above but with a
bronchoscopy
as well, yikes! all going a bit fast. I still feel that Pleurisy is hanging about as have the pleurisy pain in the left lung. Do you get pain with IPF?

Bronchoscopy
I'm off for
bronchoscopy
shortly. Still no answer from Brompton re slides they were sent beginning of June. Actually not sure chest consultant actually sent them. Bristol say not sarcoid nodules all over lungs, Gloucester says it IS sarcoid.

Yet another test to endure on Tuesday (ultrasound
bronchoscopy
) then it is the oncologist the following week. I am getting so fed up of the waiting - precious time is being lost, but I can't do anything about it.

Hi. A 7cm mas was found in my right lung on an xray 3 weeks ago today (9th July).
I have since had blood tests a CT scan with contrast and a
bronchoscopy
with biopsies. They could not get a tissue sample because my lung has an infection and is inflamed so I am waiting for a needle biopsy at Cheltenham.

My results wern't good, I have a tumour in the bottom of my right lung and a big swollen lymph gland in the middle of my chest. To top it off, the registrar did not get a big enough sample out of my lung to identify the type of cancer it is, so I have got to have another

Well Well Well!!
Nothing much to report on the health saga - still waiting for results from the
bronchoscopy
- and expecting a phone call on Thursday for the next round of events. The scan results weren't good, so now its down to the biopsy thingy.

Hi Guys - an update on the journey
I have my
Bronchoscopy
tomorrow and this will determine whether I shall be on curative or palliative treatments which I assume will be radio/chemo. I have now jacked work in and concentrating on sorting out stuff as they say "getting my affairs in order".

COPD patient David Jones on S4C's 'Doctor Doctor' - catch up
The programme also covers what a '
bronchoscopy
' is and there's an interesting Q&A with Dr Matt Jones about COPD. It's in Welsh but you can choose English subtitles by clicking on the 'S' you'll see on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Todays appointment
The next steps at the moment seem to be a metal wire up my nose and into the top of my stomach to test for silent reflux, sputum induction and possibly a
bronchoscopy
which I am not over keen on - especially after he told me its dangerous to do it to asthmatics!

Transplant (on the list and activated)
My consultant had just done a
Bronchoscopy
and lung wash out on me when he come to my bedside and asked would you consider lung transplantation. I dont know what he saw through that camera inside my lungs but it obviously was'nt good.

Is it necessary to see an Infectious Disease specialist or is my respiratory specialist knowledgable enough?
There was a fungal ball in my lung found during a
bronchoscopy
, I'm now using a steroid inhaler but that's all I know. Feeling a little lost until I found this website. Thank you so much.
