Making it through debulking surgery. It's been tough but so far, so good đź‘Ť
Hello ladies. I joined this great community after diagnosis of stage 3c ovarian cancer in March this year. As a nurse I was petrified at the thought of going to theatre for debulking surgery, a possible stoma plus removal of any other bits. A little knowledge is a bad thing sometimes and I overanalysed

Asthma and/or COPD
Hi, I'm 74 & have mild, well controlled asthma since 7. I have been on a preventer inhaler since my 20's. In 2015 I developed a chronic cough and my breathing problem became more of a concern. (no asthma attack but often breathless, & wheezy). My Dr said I now have COPD & added Spiolto Respimat inhaler

Spirometry test.
Hi I've been to see the Asthma Nurse twice this month, first for a review, second for a spirometry test, so apparently she said I don't have Asthma , after being on Clenil 100, and Ventolin for 2 yrs when I was told I had late on set Asthma, I asked if I can stop taking the Inhalers then ,

Hi everyone! I’m relatively new here and need some advise. Basically my asthma is getting worse and worse since last August. My GP/ asthma nurse have been increasing my meds since last October. Asthma advice - constant chest tightness
Hi all, This is my first post here and I'm looking for some advice as to how I can manage my asthma better. The asthma nurses I've seen over the years haven't been especially helpful. I've had asthma ever since childhood and live ok with it, but over the past few years it seems to be worsening, despite

Eosinophilic asthma diagnosis. Anyone else?
Diagnosed with Athma in 1998. Past couple of years it's been very hard to control. I finally know why thanks to an appointment I had yesterday with the pulmonologist. He told me I have Eosinophilic asthma. Just curious if anyone has been diagnosed with this. Would like to know a little bit more about

I think I can solve Asthma
Since I have been looking at my drug treatments I think I found the missing items which cause asthma. I think I have found the cure and is quite simple and to do with gut bacteria and how it affects the body to cause inflamation. My cure is natural and I am still checking before I finalise a research

Workplace discrimination
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced discrimination at work because of their asthma? Fed up of having to prove that my asthma doesn’t mean I’m unreliable as when I’m well I give 100%

6 Weeks After Treatment - Is This Asthma?
Hello everyone, when I first came here it was because they'd mentioned to me I may have asthma. 6 Weeks ago I was having nearly daily symptoms that lasted for hours. Tight chest, short of breath, easily exerted. I was placed on Salbutamol and Clenil 100 (2 puffs at the start and end of the day) What

New To Asthma--Some Questions
Hi There, This is long, so apologies in advance. A few months ago I was diagnosed with adult on-set asthma after having this horrible case of bronchitis that lasted for about 2.5 months. It ended up being bacterial (but according to my specialist the initial antibiotics given were not strong enough

Asthma
I’ve been getting really bad asthma for the past 6 months....I had it when I was a child but it went away for more that 7 years . My Lungs are really sensitive to the slightest cold weather and not being able to do daily activities . I’m so dependent on medication and I’m wondering if it’ll ever go?

Side effects of Duoresp Spiromax Inhaler
I have had asthma since 1989. But it was under control till one year back. I was switched to Duoresp Spiromax inhaler because my GP explained it was a cheaper option my surgery was prescribing as a cost cutting procedure by the NHS. Everything went down hill from last year. But it never crossed my mind

Unhelpful GP
I am new here but am hoping someone can advise me. My Mum is 89. Until Jan she lived fairly independently with me for support. Her memory was failing but otherwise in good health and hadn’t seen a GP for 5yrs. In Jan this year she developed a twisted bowel, now has a stoma. At the same time she had

Sulfites and asthma
Hello, does anyone here have a sulfite sensitivity which affects your asthma? I have got a chronic flare up at the moment which isn’t improving with current inhalers, but I stumbled upon a link yesturday that may make sense. I do drink red wine and without fail mainly believe it not, for health purposes

Asthma attack vs exaccerbation
Hi, I’m new here. I was just wondering if anyone could clarify the difference between an asthma attack and an asthma exaccerbation. I’ve had asthma since I was a child (now 36) but to my knowledge I’ve never had an asthma attack. The past couple of years I’ve been fine with just the odd puff of ventolin
