Very confused!
Hello, I am new to this forum after being recommended by the brilliant asthma helpline. Reading around the forum and there is some great support. I am looking for some advice. I am 31 years old and had fairly mild asthma since I was 12. Always been pretty well controlled and been fit and active. Love

I might be heading for a bowel resection for endometriosis. Has anyone else had one? How was it?
I am quite scared of waking up with a stoma and hopefully won't be permanent as they have warned I may need one. It could only be for 3 months. I have 2 large nodules on bowel one is 5cm. Trying not to lose the plot as I also want to have a baby through ivf and I'm nearly 39. How long do I wait to try

6 months after life threatening asthma attack.
Hey guys! So I had a life threatening asthma attack- my first one 6 months ago.... I went into respiratory arrest, passed out, woke up 3 days later in Icu incubated. Well my voice is still very raspy from it -haven't gotten it back sense- and it seems my asthma is worse now- after very moderate exercise

Is my child's asthma being taken seriously?
Hi all, resorting to posting to a bunch of strangers to vent my exasperation! Every Autumn/Winter, my son (6yo) suffers regularly from colds. He has viral-induced asthma, so these colds always end up in relentless coughing, vomiting phlegm and days off school. Last year he missed one day every fortnight

New research on exercise and diet
Hi all, This might be of interest to some of you. There's been a small study in Denmark that suggests eating well and getting fit found that the diet and exercise combination improved symptom control and quality of life for people with asthma. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4878492/Eating-exercising-halve-asthma.html

Change of inhalers
Hi there Had an asthma review with the nurse today as I have recently felt that my asthma isn't under control. I have been experiencing shortness of breath and chest tightness (no cough or wheeze) and having to use salbutamol more than normal. Peak flow was normal today so she didn't feel my asthma

Debulking surgery
I had my debulking surgery 2 weeks ago today. Initially I did very well after the long op and also had acbowel resection at the same time in preparation for a stoma reversal. I am having real problems eating as I feel constantly full. Did anyone else have this problem and when did it start to resolve

Do I have asthma & not know it?
Hi, I posted this in another community but the more opinions the better. Is it possible to have asthma if you are at 100% oxygen? I've been felling short of breath that gets worse at night or walking around a lot. I also feel a tight chest not sure if it is my chest or my abdomen that feels tight since

Eosinophilic asthma and dyspepsia
I seem to be suffering from really bad heartburn- I have had it for a while but it has gotten much worse over the last few weeks - I wonder if it is connected to the eosinophilc asthma I have been diagnosed with? I was told that regular use of inhalers can bring this on. Anybody else suffer this?

In need of help
My 11 year old son Josh has just woken up and he is coughing quite alot, and there is a small wheeze sound when he exhales deeply, he says his chest also feels a little tight, but he was fine yesterday and has never had this problem before I asked him if he gets like it when he plays football or any

Sleeping position
I’m curious to know if any of my fellow ostomates manage to sleep on their sides? If so, any top tips? I generally struggle with leakage due to a retracted Stoma & pancreatic insufficiency which means o find it difficult to break food down when I digest it. I manage this with convex rings & Sensure Mio

Asthma or something else?
For the last 3 years I have had a strange crackly, squeaky sound but only some of the time. I kind of thought it was seasonal. My GP didn't think it was Asthma, he arranged various heart tests and it was found I had mild aortic stenosis. My current doctor is revising the tests. However, I have been
