Am I A severe Asthmatic?
Hello everybody, I have once heard it from medical experts that severe asthma is quite different from other forms of asthma and it's a bit difficult to treat. I developed asthma in my teenage years and it was very controlled as at then but when I clocked 18, it became a bit uncontrolled and seretide

Rectovaginal endo and surgery
Hi all I’ve been diagnosed with stage 4 rectovaginal endometriosis and am currently waiting an operation on 19th Sept to have it removed. I have been told that it will be a major operation (3 hrs) which could result in me having a temporary stoma. I was wondering if anyone else has this condition

How to tactfully put across "no wheeze can still = asthma"
I'm seeing the asthma nurse tonorrow after seeing the GP the other week for an asthma exacerbation. She decided that due to the fact I wasn't wheezing and my sats were 100%, I didn't need oral steroids and that increasing my preventer would be enough. Despite this increase, my symptoms are still the

Any advice please
Hey I'm looking for any advice on what has worked for people controlling their asthma. Mines is poorly controlled as things like periods and weather change can set it off as well as getting upset or stressed and lack of sleep. Also high allergy markers. Im on home oxygen, nebulisers, steroids everyday

Asthma medical alert bracelet?
Hello all. Does anybody wear a medical alert bracelet for their asthma? I am considering one, for peace of mind. I use a preventer (8 puffs per day) but we're still working on a manageable treatment programme for my asthma, which has worsened over the past year. My concern stems from an incident in

Asthma.net - Useful Site?
Just discover - on Asthma.net - part of the answer to a question I asked earlier today on this Forum concerning Asthma / Cortisol. Not yet familiar enough with Asthma.net to give it a strong recommendation, but the article I just read was very good indeed. If interested in Asthma / Stress / Cortisol

Cortisol and Asthma
I respond well to Prednisolone. Does this suggest that - when I have an Asthma Attack - I am ‘deficient’ in Cortisol (and that Prednisolone increases my Cortisol)? Or, does it mean the opposite, and that my Asthma is partly due to ‘too much’ Cortisol? In order to reduce my Prednisolone need, should

Symbicort confusion
Have had asthma since I was a few months old and in the early years there were no inhalers at all. Have recrntl6 been put on Symbicort (Smart) after I was told Seritide was being discontinued and that it would replace my ventolin reliever. As I have exercise induced asthma as well as allergy asthma

But I just have so much running through my mind at the min along with feeling physically broken I thought posting might help. For the last 7 months my asthma has been hard to control, I couldn’t tell you how many exacerbations

My humour helps me cope!
I was searching on Pinterest for recipes for magnesium rich food and have discovered a whole host of asthma related quotes that definitely appeal to my warped sense of humour! (I find it helps) ‘You take my breath away. Well, it’s either you or my asthma’ 😂 Not sure if anyone else is the same, guessing

Hopefully may have the answer
After many years of flare ups and taken an asthma preventer and dosage for server asthma . I have been finally diagnosed with mild asthma. I was told today, all these flare ups may have been caused by the steroids in the preventer I have been taking all these years. On a new non-steroid preventer

Parastomal Hernia Repair
I have a medium to large parastomal hernia which has been causing partial blockages and pain. I have decided to have a parastomal hernia repair and booked a date for the operation. I just wish to know what the after effects are. Does the stoma get smaller and cause leakages. Do I get pain in the long
