Newby with dietary questions
Hi, my colostomy and stoma is now 3 weeks old following an emergency procedure. Everything's fine so far and my diet is returning to normal. Having said that I find a lot of the advice online contradictory. I understand the no sweetcorn, nuts, peas rules ok but I love salads and really want to reintroduce

Trachea involvement in asthma
Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but I’m relatively new to asthma, with a recent diagnosis. I’ve searched far and wide and can’t figure this out. The trachea is part of the lower respiratory system and asthma is a lower respiratory condition, but there doesn’t seem to be much information about

Asthma & Magnesium
Has anyone found that taking magnesium supplements made a difference to their asthma? I’m wondering if magnesium deficiency could be causing my breathing issues but don’t want to be laughed out of the GP surgery.

Weirdest advice/conspiracies you have heard about asthma
So no doubt you’ve all heard something weird or wacky at some point about asthma. A cure, a suggestion for improvement, what causes it and just general conspiracies. Time for use to share what we’ve heard (and if you think they’re true/helpful). Maybe someone has something that’s been suggested which

Household Asthma??
What are the chances of two people family members getting asthma at the same time? I’ve had a cough for about 6 weeks now and my throat feels like it closes up and I can’t inhale. I’ve seen the doctor and they said it may be asthma and have given me inhalers. It seems to easing. My 19 year old daughter

African American Children Respond Differently to Asthma Medications.
African Americans suffer asthma more often and more severely than Caucasian patients. However, clinical trials that have shaped treatment guidelines have included few African Americans. A new report demonstrates a shortcoming of that history. Researchers at National Jewish Health and their colleagues

Asthma and tiredness
Hello everyone, I have had asthma for over 50 years since I was a nipper. I believe there is a link between asthma and tiredness and often feel the need to lie down and rest. During this year I have been feeling more and more tired. At times my asthma has also been bad this year, but currently I am

Bowel resection on Monday
Hi everyone, I have stage 4 recto vaginal endo and have been struggling for years. I had my first lap last December to remove a 4cm cyst from the left ovary. The surgeon found endo on my appendix and my ulterior wall. I have now been booked in for a bowel resection + removal of the endo within my gynae

Info re high heart rate during an attack
Hi everyone I know I rant about this topic often but it really does make me mad when I am told by medics that a fast heart rate isn't a feature of an asthma attack. I'm sure all of us in the community know that it is and sadly have experienced it (all my attacks have started with a high heart rate).

Asthma and Migraine Treatment
Prior to my recent asthma deterioration my GP prescribed Naproxen for my migraines. I explained that I’ve never had any problems with Ibuprofen so I was happy with that. Now after this recent nasty flare I am reluctant to take it as I don’t know if it will trigger an attack. For those of you out there
