Pain after Egg Retrieval- Day 4
Hi All, I had my egg collection on Monday and have found myself very sore with abdominal cramps since. I’ve been on bed rest all week. I had a big of shortness of breath on Wednesday and started to worry it may be OHSS but it had gone by the next morning. Although it’s slowly been getting better I am

Starting Afinitor soon.
I’m about to begin Faslodex and Afinitor, which will be my 4th round of treatments in two years. My cancer is progressing, but my quality of life has been good so far, which makes me happy....my husband is working in Germany, and I was able to visit him for 3 months last summer and a two weeks last

Bone Biopsy experience
Hi all! I want to thank everyone who shared their lung biopsy experiences with me in June. I was reassured by your comments and good wishes. Unfortunately, there was not enough tissue taken for a diagnosis. I had a meningioma removed from my cervical spine 3 weeks ago, still painful, but thankfully

Liver tumors progressed
After 7 cycles of Ibrance and Letrozole, my liver tumors have progressed. I had a liver biopsy on July 9th and the slides were just sent this week to Foundation One in Boston for Next Generation Sequencing. Unless they find a mutation, my oncologist and my second opinion oncologist want me to go on

In praise of Ibrance and Letrozole
My initial right-breast cancer appeared (grew very quickly to the size of a grapefruit) in 1992. I had 6 courses of chemo, very extensive mastectomy, 34 radiation, then 6 more chemo. I was clear of what all doctors said would be terminal. Had lots of physical therapy and crying. 24 years later, in 2016

Treatment for invasive lobular breast cancer
I am on femara 2.5mg daily for 5 years as of now. No chemotherapy given as oncotype dx score was 9. Right mastectomy done. No radiation given as no lymph nodes were involved and margins after surgery were clear of tumour infiltration. Do I need any other treatment? What about immunotherapy n CDK4/6

To be on Ibrance or not?
To be on Ibranceor not? I moved from CA to PA and last Nov. had a pet scan and it was cancer free, clear. I was on Ibrance and letrozole for two years as my cancer came back in left lymph nodes again. I had estrogen type cancer in left breast in 2009 and had a double mastectomy and chemo. Then for 5

Surgery Update2
Recovery for the surgery on the mandible continues to go well. My dentist offered to treat the incision with a low-level laser that stimulates the mitochondria to produce more ATP and speed healing. The incision opened up a bit, but it was no big deal and closed back up on its own. The docs told

Eribulin (Halaven)
Hello everyone. I’ve just spoken to my oncologist about the results of my liver biopsy and there is no change in the receptors, it’s still hormone positive and HER2 negative, so no new treatment pathway and I’m getting through the options quite quickly at the moment. The oncologist is putting me on eribulin

Adriamycin anyone?
So after Ibrance, Taxol, Fulvestrant, Avastin (still taking Fulvestrant and Denosumab), Xeloda. It looks like my next port of call is either more Taxol (which I found fine for the first 17 weeks) or Adriamycin. Anyone tried this?I found Xeloda was so bad for my tummy plus tiredness but found Taxol fine

Not exactly respiratory, but still of interest to many members: Triple negative breast cancer meets its match.
One member of a larger family of oxygen sensing enzymes could offer a viable target for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), UTSW researchers report in a new study. The findings, published online this week in Cancer Discovery, might offer hope to this subset of patients who have few effective treatment

Women with bone-only metastatic breast cancer- do you see this as a chronic disease?
Just curious how long some of you women who have been diagnosed with bone-only metastases have been living with this disease. My mom's oncologist described it as a "chronic condition" that needs to be managed. She's currently taking letrozole and xgeva shots. She has 2 tumors in her spine - l4 and t2

Hi ladies, I wanted to come on and let you all know how my mums appointment went last week. I use this forum a lot and it’s good to have information available for all to read if needed I’ve written before about her ca125 going from 10 to 15 to 18 and the last reading was 17. The doc wasn’t concerned

Waiting on clinical trial - currently on no treatment
Hi I’m still waiting scans & further tests etc to hopefully participate in the Emerald clinical study. Since stopping palbociclib and letrozole I feel awful. I ache all over and I’m really tired all the time. On a plus side I’ve lost a bit of weight but I’m still far too heavy. I just hope and pray

Very low ER positive MBC
Does anyone know anything about the treatment of very low estrogen positive MBC? I was on arimidex for three years before my MBC was diagnosed, and during that time the ER went down from 99 percent to 2 percent. I have been put on ibrance and faslodex. I know this treatment is designed for ER positive

Venetoclax started
Further to my recent post. I am pleased to say I am now home after my three days at RMH The team expected me to have TLS due to the size of my lymph nodes. They pumped me full of fluids and I had an infusion of rasburicase a few hours before Venetoclax. Thankfully my bloods showed no sign of TLS and
