Hi, that does not sound fun at all! It took me 3 days to be able to walk around and I was much better on day 5after EC. But even after I had to take it slow the first 3 days after transfer or got pains. Now much better (6 days after transfer). You definitely need to tell your clinic about possible OHSS. It can get worse with pregnancy and can be really dangerousfor you! I'd call them asap.
Sorry you are in pain, as Tigr says keep an eye on OHSS symptoms - did you get a lot of eggs?
Sometimes it is just really painful though, I am 7 days post transfer and still quite sore. I think it links with constipation/wind as well as sore from the EC (sorry if thats tmi). My second round I could hardly walk at day 5 egg collection but still got my BFP altho sadly lost it later. Other rounds I havent had any pain at all and got BFNs - so I wouldnt lose sleep over it impacting your chances of success.
Re OHSS had your clinic said you were at high risk? They normally take your bloods before EC which tells them if you are or not x
Hey! I felt better the day before transfer but only just and it worked. It’s difficult to say as I was in so much pain after EC but I’ve known people to be fine xxx
I felt awful in the 5 day wait to transfer. I was at risk for OHSS as my last cycle was cancelled because my estrogen levels were 32000 which is freakishly high. And didn't make it to trigger shot. But had a longer cycle this time and though was still prone to OHSS I managed 18 eggs. After egg collection I vomited for 4 days and was nauseous and sooooooooo sore everywhere for all the days. So bloated and uncomfortable but on day 5 the drs gave me the go a head for transfer all the same. Said the sore and pain and bloated is expected. Good luck hun. It will be so worth it. I drank lucozade for the 5 days about 4 a day as the electrolytes help to reduce the fluids in your tummy.
PS. Its been 17 days since transfer and we have a bunch in the oven. Sending you sooooo much love and luck and baby dust
Please make sure you tell your clinic as they can do things to check whether this is OHSS. if they put an embryo back in and it is successful it can make everything So much worse. As someone who has just spent 10 days in hospital with OHSS (all my embryos had to be frozen), I really wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone as I was so so poorly. I was gutted to have everything frozen until I became so poorly and couldn’t have cared less so it’s definitely worth being checked out prior to transfer if you’re struggling x
Thanks ladies. I’m waiting for a nurse to call me back. I’m more worried I’m being over the top at this point. I’m not sick and have been going to the loo normally too I think it’s literally just pain.
Thanks for your help again. I spoke to the nurse and she thinks I have mild OHSS. They still plan to transfer tomorrow but if anything shows up or I get worse they will change it to a frozen transfer so fingers crossed x
I woke up better by day 5 and they went ahead with transfer! Although my ovaries were swollen they were happy to proceed!! I’m now 1DP5DT and so happy with our little moon 😍
