Tamoxifen

Hi ladies,

I wanted to come on and let you all know how my mums appointment went last week. I use this forum a lot and it’s good to have information available for all to read if needed

I’ve written before about her ca125 going from 10 to 15 to 18 and the last reading was 17. The doc wasn’t concerned because it was a month between the 18 and then 17 so said it could be any type of inflammation.

Anyway what she has suggested, if my mum starts to feel poorly between now and her next appointment, to take the tamoxifen.

She said it’s more for breast cancer and thats what’s I have read.

Anyone have an experience on this medication in regards to symptoms. If you had a confirmed recurrence did it help keep it at bay for any length of time?

I'm on tamoxifen but not for 3 months yet and it takes that long to work, apparently. My CA125 has gone down so I'm encouraged. I haven't suffered any side effects so I've been lucky. Good luck to your mother x

That’s good to hear, and encouraging your numbers are coming down. I hope it continues for you 🤞🏻
