Have you got some anti sickness pills?.. if not then get some as they do work...I get nausea mainly from the opioid drugs I take for pain and it’s bloody awful...don’t put up with it!

Yes get some different ones...I think nausea is one of the worst side effects of treatment...even pain can be controlled up to a point but nausea is so debilitating

Good luck

I had to try a couple before I found one that worked. It is called Compazine. Maybe you could try that.

Best of luck. Nausea is horrible, I ate a steady diet of chicken noodle soup and oyster crackers.

I was on domperidone didnt really help so will ask her if I can try some other anti sickness meds

Hi Tracey,

I agree with Barb. Don't let the sickness get you down. You shouldn't have to put up with it. I would speak to your oncologist about changing the anti-sickness drugs to something that will work better for you and give you some relief.

Take care,

Sophie

Delighted to hear about your results! You may want to discuss reducing the dosage with your doctor since many patients have a hard time with the standard dose. Here's some info. that may be of help for the discussion.

An analysis of dose modification and outcomes from 4 Phase 2 Xeloda (capecitabine) monotherapy trials, 1 Phase 3 Xeloda combination trial, and an analysis of 113 MBC patients who received Xeloda outside of a clinical trial concluded that:

Reduced Xeloda doses were associated with a lower incidence of treatment-related adverse events

Time to disease progression and overall survival were similar - or even slightly longer - among patients who received lower vs. full-dose capecitabine in all of the studies reviewed

Thank you so much for the info, glad to know it shouldn't matter if I slightly reduce dose, many thanks Tracey

Not sure if this will help. I am not on Xeloda yet bu t have been senstive to all the medications since diagnosed seven years ago. On the first treatment, I got so sick with nauea on one pill I couldn't get on top of it for 6 weeks. Finally had to be put in hospital to get my system back to normal. Since then I have been on Pantaloc which seems to help and when I occasionally still get nausea I take a gravol as well. I am not on Ibrance and Faslodex. Ibrance lowers my immune system down to almost nil so we are trying reduced dosages and lighter schedules. I don't think it is going to work for me but we are trying two weeks on and one week off.

Anyhow, hope they find something for you. Take care,

Cheers, June S.
