Rapid decline after DBS?
Good morning, My dad had DBS just over two weeks ago now. He had the leads placed two weeks ago this past Friday, and then the battery placed this past Wednesday. He has struggled mightily since the surgery. He seemed to have been in rapid decline since approximately April, and now we are at wits end

Addicted to Sinemet?
Hi all - I think I mentioned in a previous post that my dad was "abusing" his Sinemet, to the point of being dangerously overmedicated. Is it possible to be "addicted" to Sinemet and if so, can you wean off of it and get back to "normal"? My dad had DBS last Friday, and although his program director

DBS from Boston Scientific
DBS from Boston Scientific Hi all, I'm about to get DBS Vercise as treatment for my tremor dominant PD. This is the result of having had the Medtronic DBS, in for three months with little benefit. I gather that there is little on the internet about this new form of DBS because it is not yet approved

Pelvic adhesiolysis?
Hi all, Just back from my hospital appointment and I will be having laparoscopic pelvic adhesiolysis in order to separate my organs. So relieved! Airport Security
I had DBS surgery a year ago and tomorrow I am going to travel by plane. I am concerned if there is any problem going through security.

I have been diagnosed with shingles
I have been given anti viral tablets, and stop meth and hydrox. The rash is not paining only when touched, but the pain appears to be inside my abdomen on the same side as the rash. Does anybody have any similar experiences with shingles. I dont know what I should expect.

have lyme disease. I'm from Canada and there has been a lot of publicity around this tragically under diagnosed disease. The symptoms are very similar to PMR but the treatment is different...antibiotics mainly. They say going on prednisone masks the real culprit.

My husband has ringing in the ears. Has had DBS for over a year now. It seems to get worse when Dr. changes settings. Anyone else?
His E.N.T. also said it is due to DBS. His neurologist said no and then changed his answer to yes it could be. Still can't figure out what to do to help my husband get rid of ringing. Any helpful advice?

Can the physical presence of electrodes from DBS have any effect, even if turned off?
I've had DBS turned off and batteries removed because of infection. It remains to be seen if it gets completely removed or tried again once when all possible signs of infection are gone.
