Brain Surgery Anyone?
I’m 28 w TRD and just went for a screening to see if I qualify for a clinical trial of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). DBS is brain surgery where they implant a device in your brain -it looks like a meat probe thermometer- and it sends small electrical impulses to your brain and alleviates depression.

Viral Meningitis
I had viral meningitis with Influenza B in March 2018. I have had a horrible headache everyday since then. I also have major cognitive problems and I have trouble walking. I also was diagnosed with Chiari malformation but the doctor said I had it since childhood and that wasn’t the problem. I am off

Tasigna (Nilotinib) as a treatment/cure for SCA?
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has tried Tasigna (Nilotinib - FDA-approved treatment for cancer of the white blood cells) as a treatment/cure for cerebellar ataxia. There has been a recent study by renowned researchers in South Korea: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28601294 Some people in Korea

Anxiety advice
I have a severe fear of
death
and can't stop my
brain
from thinking. I work in the medical field so I'm constantly hearing about sudden deaths and that makes paranoid and gets me thinking about my health.

Bilateral ECT & DBS
I have major depressive disorder and anxiety, and I’ve had nearly 90 ECT treatments since 2012 and I just increased my treatments to bilateral last week. I feel like I cannot comprehend simple information anymore. I’m currently rereading a book and I just really don’t know what I’m reading and I feel

Emerging Innovations in Parkinson Disease Treatment: Q&A With Dr Matthew Brodsky
Surgical interventions for Parkinson disease (PD) are experiencing a swell in innovation, thanks in part to the entry of two additional medical device companies into a field previously dominated by one company. Most innovation has focused on improvements in equipment in deep brain stimulation (DBS),

Peeing blood 🤔
Hey everyone, so this might be a bit too much info , I’m not on my period but wen I’ve went to pee it’s literally blood coming out, when I noticed I then wiped again but nothing on loo roll ... I’m on antibiotics for a wound infection and my other pain relief tablets for endo, I’m jus out a bath too.

Has anyone undergone DBS?I'm being offered that as a solution to taking too much Sinemet to control my tremors (1800 mg per day).

Medical professionals disagree
I am just wondering if anyone had ever had any issues with their GP. When I saw the ent surgeon he told me the tumor was 2.4cm and he showed me on the MRI where it was, highlighting the tumor and how is pushing in the brain stem (still quite far from virtual structure). He told me I had two options,
