Viral meningitis
I have just been discharged from hospital following a diagnosis of viral meningitis. My husband remains in hospital and is very poorly. I suspect that we have the same virus but cannot understand why he isn’t responding to treatment. He seems to be getting worse. Doctors are at a loss and are running

DBS Surgery in IL
I am hoping to get the OK for DBS surgery soon. Would love to hear from anyone who has had this done in the Rush Shore Medical center Chicago IL or Evanston Hiospital in IL. Good or bad, I need to know.

New to all this and looking to reach out to others and stop using Dr Google!!
Hey folks, delighted to find this wee community. My journey started with a visit to ENT to check out what I thought was labyrinthitis and tinnitus. A casual remark from the the doc about the fact I only had a 4 in 100,000 chance of a brain tumour threw me but I put it out of my heid as nonsense. Fast

Anyone find C/L ineffective?
My husband has never been helped with any meds. Has been on carbo/levo 25-100 6 per day for over a year. He has no "on time or off time". Dr. wants him to go to 8 but I don't understand why since we do not see any change at all. He is now on B1 (Dr. C. said to stay on meds, probably because he doesn't

Most of all I appreciate my beloved wife Eva who accepts me as I am with my brain injury. I am happy at last.
I had my TBI when I was 13 in 1983 and have been just about coping ever since. I'm not at all angry with my UK family who all abandoned me and forced me to just get on with life, they did the right thing in the end. My journey nearly ended when I tried to visit my dad in Australia (he had wanted to emigrate

Shortness of breath
Shortness of breath I’m 76 years old diagnosed six years ago but first symptoms 25 years ago with loss of smell. At that time they didn’t put it together that it may be the beginning of Parkinson’s disease. I am on pretty heavy doses of Sinemet, having to take two tablets of 25/100 every two hours

WHY should people with TBI and other disabilities be expected to drive cars?
In The Philippines it is quite OK to have a Brain Injury and be a bit confused about life. When I am out alone people look after me. Jeepney drivers are especially helpful. In any civilised country like The Philippines there are public jeepneys, tricycles, buses, trams, boats and Philippine National

Thiamine question
I have been taking 2Gm Thiamine twice a day for about 1 month now. I have had DBS approx 10 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with PD about 20 years ago, fortunately the only symptoms I have are balance issues and bradykinesia. My question is; Does the length of time taking Thiamine have any correlation with

Bad Role Model
-Potential trigger warning- My very supportive grandfather (the only member of my childhood family who’s still in my life), was telling me yesterday that his good friend’s daughter tried to hang herself the other day, but the belt broke. meningioma
In November I had an incident.... It resembles a stroke. The hospital/neurologist assessed it as a migraine on the right side of my brain. They sent me for MRI'S and found a meningioma on the right hemisphere of my brain. When they first showed me the MRI scan on their computer they didn’t notice the

New results and an update - Vit D, early Lyme Disease and what looks like vitiligo
Doc called this morning to check in (looks like throwing my toys out of the pram made a big difference!). Results came back and she said I'm severely Vit D deficient (result 22, didn't get the range but "severe" is good enough for me) and tested positive for "early" Lyme Disease. The D3 I bought is

Parkinson's and Lyme Disease
Hello. I am very new to the site. First post ever! I would like to know if anyone here has heard of the correlation between Parkinson's symptoms and Lyme Disease? Were you ever tested and diagnosed with LD? And if so, after taking antibiotics, did your Parkinson's get any better?

Do I have lyme Disease yes or not?
Hi good people. It's been said that if you have any of these bands in your labs then you have LYME D: 23 31 34 39 83/93; yet my labs didn't: 41KD 41KD; 41KD 58KD. MY labs video: https://youtu.be/yz7yDPQMs9w and even my infection specialist agreed on that; yet she refused to treat me for a possible

DVA Developmental Venous Anomalies
Anyone familiar with bilateral frontal lobe complications of DVA? I am experiencing trigeminal neuralgia, facial pain, and numbness, hearing issues, seizures, and migraines. I am wondering if i will need surgery to correct this. It is on both sides.
