Living in the Shadow
In the spring of 1997 I had completed my first triathlon sprint. I was young and fit and full of life! I was living alone and woke up a week after the event feeling fine. At work, a headache began as did a sharp pain in my back. By the end of the day I was hardly able to walk home. That night I went

Deep brain stimulation research
Hi all - I've just been browsing through Pubmed and came across this study http://www.clinph-journal.com/article/S1388-2457(16)30523-5/abstract. I can't access the full article, only the abstract that states 'ppn deep brain stimulation has emerged as a potential treatment for balance disorders'. It

Headaches! Pressure! And vision!

I've pretty much have constant dull headaches that

Dizzy and impatient
Hi, I am supposed to fly over on Thurs morning 7 am to Bucharest to have all the scans and MRI tests done all over again just to ensure that everything looks good. But since Friday I've been counting the hours and the days until my departure as can't help but think of what the test results may reveal

Crude Black Molasses.
Anyone suffering from cancer may want to read up on this. It is not an alternative to normal medicine! My daughter was given a death sentence because of a Brain Tumour. I had read about this and bought some - we had nothing to lose - only her. I spoon fed it to her for weeks - months even, taking breaks

New MRI this month
Due to severe anxiety I decided to have a new MRI in a different country in 10 days time just to rule out the possibility of having developed a brain tumor since the date of my last brain MRI which was done on 10-Aug-2016. Although all the docs I met said this is very unlikely, I am worried about revealing

New to community & this is my meningitis story
In October of 2014 I became ill with what I thought was the flu. My temp was 102.9 for about 24 hrs before going to an urgent care facility. I live in the US. While at the facility, I was taken to a room & was asked to submit a UA. Not long after a nurse came in & stated I had signs of a kidney infection

I'm new here....
Hi all, I am the mother of 2 boys with ABI. The younger one from a RTI 71/2 years ago and almost ready to come home finally. The elder one banged his head on a pavement 17 months ago and had decompressive surgery/ craniotomy. The eldest is due for cranioplasty on Dec 21st and I was wondering how long

Shingles Vaccination
Hi all could someone please tell me if you can have the shingles vaccination if you're on methotrexate as it's a live vaccine. My GP surgery keeps leaving messages to tell me I'm entitled to it. I know its awful but I just don't trust them to get it right.

Stroke following DBS surgery.
A dear friend had DBS for Parkinson's and then a stroke after the surgery. Her left side is paralysed from the stroke and she is currently having therapy. However her severe dyskinesia on her right side inhibits her physical therapy. Dr. does not want to activate her DBS until she is finished with

Epilepsy starting to worsen.
I firstly started with epilepsy in 1985 and for 15 years really suffered with it. After that time, I was put on the medication I'm on now which controlled it to a point. However, over the last few months it seems like it's come back with a vengeance. I've started to have seizures of a day time leaving
