SEVERE COPD
Hi I've just been diagnosed with severe copd. I am 44. I was a smoker but I'm on nicotine replacement now. I also work as a fragrance consultant. I was shocked to be told I had it as I always thought it affected older people .

Picking some thyroid brains out there..... After some info/opinions on why my body has started producing thyroglobulin antibodies?!??!
Bit of history.... Thyroid cancer 2006, thyroid removed and RAI. Treated with Thyroxine since and blood work and thyroglobulin and antibodies have all been great until now. Thyroglobulin is still undetectable but thyroglobulin antibodies have appeared. Any opinions appreciated.

Cisplatin chemo
Has anyone previously had this chemo. If so how did you find and cope with side effects. Also did it help shrink the cancer. I had 1 shot on 5th round of 2nd line chemo. I ended up in bed for 8 days very ill. Recoverd now. But that was so awful. I cry just thinking about going through that again.

Had completion, don't have to have RAI what to expect next?
Hello, I have had my competition thyroidectomy for Papilliary Thyroid cancer. In the end I had one 2.5cm encapsulated tumour on one side and a 2mm micro-cancer on the other. My consultant is not concerned by the 2mm cancer and says I wont have to have RAI. I am on 150mcg of Levo and doing well on it

Odd facts you may be unaware of.
1. My husband and I divorced over religious differences. He thought he was God and ...... I didn't. 2. I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it. 3. Some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them. 4. I used to have a handle on life, but it broke. 5. Don't

Tudorza
I started using tudorza 12 days ago. I must say, I'm quite impressed so far. I try to go to the gym everyday. I usually do 2 miles but on 2.5, and sometimes struggle. Today I did 2miles on 2.9 and was hardly out of breath. I also use symbicort for my asthma. I tried spiriva for my copd, but it actually

We are world neighbours.
Every morning browsing the daily posts my heart goes out to those seeking help, advice, or the need of a little understanding, at the same time I can't help thinking of those lurking in the dark corners of the forum too shy or nervous to make themselves known. It’s hard to answer the posts but some

Will everything work ok after bowel sugary? Can anyone explain their procedure in non-medical terms?
Hi everyone, I’m 27, living on my own far away from family and in last year been diagnosed with stage 4 endo. Had 4 lap surgeries and appendix out and things unstuck. Still having pain so now they want to do bowel resection due to my ovary&tube stuck, again, to the bowl, followed by removing a retroperitional

Beta 2 Microglobin - an exquisitely sensitive marker for disease activity in many hematologic disorders.
Increased serum beta2 microglobulin levels reflect increased activity of the disease process in question and can be an exquisitely sensitive marker for this purpose in many hematologic disorders. The reference range of beta2 microglobulin in urine samples is 0-0.3 µg/mL. In serum or plasma samples,

Cosmetic & Toiletries app that rates ingredients according to carcinogen level, hormone disrupter, potential for allergies etc.
I know that some of you have opted to switch to less harmful cosmetics and toiletries in a bid to reduce any possible toxic substances entering the body via the skin. We do absorb quite a bit through our skin so it makes sense to consider what we put on it just as much as what we eat or drink. Many ingredients

p13k treatment
My onocologist wants me to start taking everolimus for my targeted p13k cancer. also targeted p53 cancer and there is no target treatment for that yet. I would stay on the gemzar/avastin while taking new med. I had a reaction to the cisplatin? so have been taken off it. Has anyone else used this
