Hello. I'm new here.
I found this site by chance. I read many posts. Very helpful. Thank you. I have been diagnosed with COPD about 2 years ago and can't really come to terms with it. I keep reading. Bit shy on posting.

Long term Zoladex use
After the surgery to reverse the iliostomy I developed a
bowel
obstruction
and infection meaning a 10 day stay. I continued on the Zoladex and everything settled down, I was able to come off all pain meds, senna and laxido etc and my bowel habits returned to normal.

Bowel Cancer Screening
Thank you everyone for your replies. I made the mistake of looking on the internet and a site webmd which is where I read about aspirin and even certain foods. It doesnt mention anything in the leaflets. I was interested to see the screening is offered from 50 in Scotland. Thats quite a difference.

Bowel Cancer Screening test
Hi All, I have just received my kit for bowel cancer screening to do at home ( lovely birthday gift on turning 60). Just reading advice on things to do before doing tests and it says don't take aspirin for 7 days before doing test as it can make it appear you have hidden blood and so give false positive

New to COPD
I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me with? 1) At what stage you were referred out to a pulmonoligist? 2) Does anyone else have a ulcer with this? I'm not sure if it's normal or not? 3) can you feel this in your lungs or is it just a feeling of breathlessness? 4) did you ever have swelling

The hunt for Aspirin alternatives.... Pycnogenol?
Having recently been diagnosed with low risk ET (low risk of clotting, JAK2/CALR neg, platelet count around 740), my hematologist prescribed 1 x 75mg Aspirin per day with quarterly blood tests. I am notoriously bad with medication and will generally always experience the worst of any listed side effects

Hello, Has anyone been on both pills above and experienced Constipation? It's been a struggle to even go once a day and my stomach hurts. I started taking both pills around the same time. I've been like this for about nearly 4 weeks.

N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC)
This page goes into how NAC can be a game-changer for those with COPD. http://www.lifeextension.com/Magazine/2010/5/N-Acetyl-Cysteine/Page-02 I just started it myself and I feel it is making a difference. Hoping to see still more improvement as I continue. I take it along with vitamin C and MSM. All

Back in the world of the living!
I have just spent 3 weeks in hospital with emergency surgery for
bowel
obstruction
. It was thought it may be a clot but turned out to be adhesions and scar tissue causing the pain.
