Prebiotics, probiotics and now postbiotics. What they are and how can they improve our gut health?
Postbiotics are essentially the by-products of our gut microbiota. In other words, your body produces postbiotics after digesting prebiotic and probiotic foods. DOES ANYONE TAKE SONATA, LUNESTA, or RESTORIL for their RLS and if so, does it work for you?
Dr. Buchfuchrer's website list a host of drugs that have been prescribed over the years for RLS and their effects. Wondering if anyone takes either of these three for insomnia and RLS?

I fear I may have bowel cancer. Can anyone give me some insight about symptoms, treatment as well as survival rates in the UK?

High fit test and now visible bleeding
Hi Guys, I’ve had a change in my bowel habits for the last 4 months. Got a lot lot looser and sometimes the smell was quite bad. I finally managed to get an appointment to see the GP when I realised that it wasn’t going away. I assumed I maybe just had a tummy bug. The GP arranged for me to do a FIT

Lowing my mind
My symptoms started about 3 months ago, with a change in bowel habits....looser and more frequent 2/3 time a day and heartburn which I'd never suffered with before. That's not changed but other things have happened in the last couple of weeks, really loud gurgling in stomach a few hours after eating

Bloods.
I had some blood tests today. the nurse said the results will be back by tomorrow. My appointment with the doctor is tomorrow. I'm worried about bowel cancer. I know I will need a Colonoscopy to see what's happening. I am terrified of going tomorrow. What can they tell by the blood tests I wonder.

is it Colon cancer ?
hi all , I’m really worried about my mum,she has internal Hemorrhoids and would have constipation(which a doctor told her could be due to the medication she’s on for her headaches)The doctor got her to take a FIT test and it came back 400 (even though her hemorrhoids were actively bleeding) she is now

Quinidine Sulphate
About 11 years ago I was diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome and had a de-fib fitted as well as prescibed Quinidine and Bisoloprol which I have taken ever since. 4 years ago my de-fib activated so my Consultant increased the levles of Quinidine. However I am told by my Consultant & Pharmacy that they cannot

Is Trimbow causing me health problems
So, I have had 3 full blood counts over the last 4 months, seems for some reason my platelet count is very low, had the usual lifestyle questions asked by my doctor and after the latest blood count was told by my doctor that it's all a red herring, my platelet count must be my normal level, sounds plausible

Trimbow eligibility??
ok so I’ll reply to you all on my other post shortly, thank you all for your support!! I was thinking of asking my GP to step down my Seretide from 125/25 to 50/25 because the steroid is definitely doing less for me than the long acting reliever. I was also going to ask to switch back from Atrovent

APeR surgery and colostomy bag
hi I am due for surgery for rectal cancer in which I will need a permanent colostomy and possibly rectal excision. Understandably I am struggling to come to terms with diagnosis and surgery needed. If anyone has been through this and can let me know what to expect after surgery I would really appreciate

Advice please. Am I being fobbed off by GP!!
Hi all I’m new here. Have ibs-d for over a year now and it’s affecting my work life! I had to ring in sick yesterday and I’m worried that I’m going to be on a warning. I’m a nurse and the nhs is pretty strict on sick leave! I saw my gp again today and I guess I was hoping for a referral or a definite

Cramps above belly button and nausea after eating - currently on chemo
She went through a partial
bowel
obstruction
last July and we had to go to emergency. It cleared on its own after about 24 hours of intense pain. At the time they indicated it was due to adhesions and not cancer.

Obstructive defecation anyone ?
So, I've been referred for an anal manometry and and endo anal ultrasound. A digital rectal exam is painful enough so I'm wondering whether these are too? Anyone had one??

Son in Canada looks to Germany for treatment
Our 56 year old son started with colon cancer, which progressed to lung cancer and now a tumor has been discovered by his sciatica nerve. He has been continually been sent for more radiation treatments that don't seem to be working. He has heard of a doctor in Germany who uses different techniques
