Thyroid Blood Test
Hi Everyone First time posting on here. I have seen many people recommend having thyroid blood tests early morning before taking Levothyroxine. Does this make a big difference to the results? I am due a thyroid blood test, my problem is I am housebound so my GP arranges for a district nurse to come

Blood Results
Hi, Following my last post, I have visited my GP due to ongoing palpitations. She was very sympathetic and did me a full run of blood tests. All came back ‘normal’ my TSH even slightly down to my last test. Bloods were taken at 9.15am as advised. I am not prescribed any thyroid medication and take 3000

side effects of biologics-anyone effected?
just the above really. It look like I've been approved. I'm going for blood tests soon but I have done some research and found that they can suppress the immune system which has concerned me because one of the main triggers for me are viral and bacterial infections. Anyone here have any experience of

switch to hydrocortisone
I’ve been to see the endocrinologist today on the recommendation of the rheumatologist. I had a borderline synacthan test , on the basis of which today he has suggested I switch to 5mg of hydrocortisone twice daily from 4 mg of prednisolone. In the background to this I have also been prescribed low

"Could toenails help identify blood cancer causes" https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c51z348p4e9o This article is on BBC Scotland's website today. I suspect it may have been on this forum before and maybe someone has experience of the trial? It is very interesting about research into the causes

Levothyroxine side effects - sleep
Hello, very new here. I’ve recently started Levothyroxine after trying to conceive with no luck. My TSH is “subclinical” at 6. The doctor has put me on 75micrograms and I have been on them for a week. Is it quite normal to feel jittery off them or am I on too strong of a dose? My symptoms include:

SWOLLEN ANKLES WITH LUNG CONDITION
Hi, This is my first post on here I think. Almost a year ago I was in hospital as I couldn't breath, felt like I was suffocating. I'd had a chest x-ray 6 months previous and was told my lungs were quite normal and my dr couldn't find a reason for my breathlessness. It did improve for a while, but came

Just an update from previous posts. I'm currently in the process of experimentation with my RLS. I have tried to avoid sugar / chocolate and MSG. The MSG comes from eating out ! My Thai girlfriend makes healthy meals for me each day with no added 'stuff' ! I can have nights which are bad for

Info, please , about what genetic/genomic data can now be gathered from a peripheral blood test
Hi my MPN friends I have PMF, and I understand that the genetic/genomic data. (Not entirely sure what the difference is ) (mutations, etc. ) about my condition can now be assessed from a peripheral blood sample. I’ve had BMBs in the past, and I’m aware that you can’t compare results from a BMB with

I’m A Bit Confused About Timings For My Blood Test Tomorrow.
I take 100 mcg Levo Mon-Sat. and 50mcg on Sunday. Christmas got me mixed up so I ended up with 100mcg on Sunday, so I compensated for it and took the 50mcg last night (Monday). Today is Tuesday and the time is now 9:30, I have already had my breakfast. My blood test is at 8:40 tomorrow morning. I’

Hello everyone, I’ve just been diagnosed in the past few days - they’re finding out the cause through scans and more blood tests coming up! As it was Christmas Day I really pushed to go home and I yesterday. The nurses said to go back if I had any concerns about my health and I am still having fever

TSH increase
I recently had blood tests due to feeling really fatigued especially after exercising. I’ve been on levo for 13 years for Hashimoto’s. Levels have been up and down. Last test was 0.75 and I felt fine. That was 9 months ago. Most recent test it was 7.16! No wonder I feel bad. All vits tested on the low

CRP and ESR up but no symptoms to speak of
Firstly many thanks to all for Christmas Greetings and sending good wishes to everyone in return. Next....RE my GCA.... recent blood test 22/11 with local doc revealed rise in CRP - again. (It had gone up in November 'out of range' to 26.5 and now again on recent test to 34.5). ESR was ok in November
