h pylori on endoscopy but negative on stool and blood test

I have suffered with severe constipation for the last three years and stomach issues for the last 6 months. I had stool and blood test for h pylori in October last year. Both of these tests came back as negative. More recently I had an endoscopy because I got to the point where I felt really full and have barely eaten for months, although, in October last year this made my symptoms improve. I had an endoscopy in January this year that suggested portal hypertension. As I didn’t tolerate the first scope I had another and now they are saying it’s h pylori. I was just happy to find it’s nothing sinister and can be treated. I’m just a bit concerned as I have lots of other symptoms going on like shortness of breath, heart palpitations and feeling very tired. I have had my liver checked my bloods and a CT scan. I’m just concerned as the first two tests (blood and stool) didn’t indicate pylori. I have never taken anything that could have changed result.

I was informed that an endoscopy was the definite test for h pylori and obviously its more expensive than a blood test so rest assured you will now be treated. As for the other symptoms and to ease your anxiety see your GP again, as a lay person I am not qualified to answer. Please post again when you get more answers, good luck

I've just had an endoscopy and he did a biopsy for H. Pylori. I got the result within 10 minutes of the procedure.

I had to wait 2 weeks and I paid privately too.

He did the test whilst I was still lying on the table! The efficiency was amazing.
