Start of my Stem Cell Journey 0.3
My Haematologist said the cut off for me to start
blood
transfusion
was 80, but was happy to carry on the treatment and to have more bloods done in 3 weeks time. So fast forward my red cells have dropped to 76 and my platelets are 34.

V and O treatment and low Hemoglobin
My journey continues. I am hospitalized due to AIHA/CLL and Covid. Very low hemoglobin is the issue. Dr. decided it was time to treat the CLL and that would correct the AIHA. Hemoglobin was 3.4. Given high dose of prednisone, and started the Obi infusion. Got 5 blood transfusions and hemoglobin went

Question About Iron Supplement

SCT Journey No. 7 post sct
Well here I am 15 days post transplant!!! Headaches, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, sore throat. These are all under control with various drugs and even a sleeping pill to help at nights! Not that it’s too noisy at night, but it never quite gets dark but they even cover this as a volunteer came round

Suggestions after Lutetium + Olaparib not working?
Hello community - hoping for some guidance post-Lutetium + Olaparib for my dad, which hasn't been working and has been extremely hard on his body (has needed blood transfusions practically every other week) and his markers are all going up. This is a rather long summary but grateful for any thoughts/

Where are we with CRISPR and PROTACS?
Two great technologies, CRISPR is a gene-editing tool that precisely alters DNA sequences in a reversible way, while PROTACs are molecules that tag specific proteins for degradation, removing harmful proteins instead of just inhibiting them. The first CRISPR based human therapy was successfully deployed

Low iron levels with a heart condition
To make matters worse, I unfortunately had a bowel bleed in February 2023 resulting in need a
blood
transfusion
. I was put on ferrous sulphate for 3 months and at the end of the 3 months I started to feel really good and finally my hair stopped falling out.

I had a mental breakdown the other day and ended up in hospital because my medication regime was changed for no reason. As I have said elsewhere I take 2, 5 mg tablets of diazepam per week and have for a very, very long time with no problems. Yes I'd like more to enable me to get out of the house more

Ferritin of 38
My Ferritin has been dropping since an iron infusion a year ago. It was 98 pre transfusion. 1050 following the iron then every 3 months became gradually lower. It is now 38. Trans sats are 14% , Transferrin 26, Iron 8.4. My doctor says this is normal and filed my report without discussion. I had colonoscopy

Update on FIL -Venetoclax as a Monotherapy, Pancytopenia and Myelodysplasia
Hi everyone I have been meaning to post an update for months but things have been changing so rapidly, every day would have been a different story. So we did get to see a specialist who did a BM biopsy and recommended Venetoclax as a Monotherapy as his BM was 50% CLL. We were told it wasn't chemo

+100 Days post transplant
Well I've made it to the first mile post, I can't believe it's 100 days since my SCT, I cannot thank my brother too much for being my donor. I still have low blood counts and had a BMB 3 1/2 weeks ago for the Dr's to check what's going on, three of the 4 counts showed either 100% or very nearly of donor

Bone Marrow
Hi everyone. I am seeking your helpful advice once again. My daughter was diagnosed with High Serous Grade 3 Ovarian Cancer in June 2023 with full debaulking surgery in July 2023. She is currently on 100mg Paraparib which has had an effect on her haemoglobin levels but appear to have now settled.

STEM CELL TRANSPLANT FINALLY SCHEDULED (WE HOPE)
Hi everyone. As you may know, my husband was diagnosed with CLL back in 2013, treated with six cycles of FCR, and achieved a "full response with incomplete recovery of the bone marrow." He had severe complications after treatment, but the CLL never recurred. In November 2023 he began to experience
