"News of a potential blood test gives early diagnosis hope for Parkinson's" (RLS research needed?)
Researchers have developed a blood test to predict patients who would 'develop Parkinson’s - up to seven years before symptoms began'. Could similar research bring potential benefits for RLS? 'The markers were directly linked to inflammation and degradation of proteins and could be used to develop new

Hashimoto's blood test and cortisol tests
I have been asked by my GP Surgery to provide them with the list of blood tests I believe are correct for a patient with Hashimoto's. I don't seem to be able to find it. Would someone be kind enough to show me where I may find it please? Is it the same as under active blood test or are there 'extras'

Blood Tests to show if Calcium is being absorbed into the bones and not elsewhere....
Does anyone know if there's blood test than can tell if the calcium supplements are in fact going to the right place ( the bones) and not being absorbed into the bloodstream, if so what's it called? I have been diagnosed, via the DEXA scan, with severe osteoporosis, but I don't understand the explanation

Nerves taken
I need some understanding. A friend just shared that he had a G8 and a psa of 10.2. He had a RALP and the doc said the cancer was contained to the prostate. Then he said that the doc took both nerve bundles (R & L). How is the cancer contained but required both nerve bundles to be taken?

Can You Refuse Certain Blood Tests
I had a consult with a Livi doctor last week for non thyroid related issue, he wanted me to have a load of bloods done. I've checked online and see what he's ordered. It includes B12, which is pointless as I'm on jabs and have been for years, so B12 always very high. ( the lab always moan and point this

Hand inflamation following PMR
Hi there, I suffered bad PMR for nearly three years, strating on 30mg of pred. Tapering down until about six weeks ago... maybe too fast towards the end, the GP put me on Naproxin. Aches and pains were fairly bad but a trigger finger has led to inflammation and paralysis to both hands. No one seems to

TSH level when on levothyroxine
Hi all, very quick question ahead of a GP appointment (first one since prescribed levothyroxine 2 years ago - initially 50 then moved up to 75). Thyroid blood tests then revealed although levels just in ranges, high antibodies so diagnosed Hashimoto’s. Had gone in to GP thinking was menopausal (age

Arthritis and P.A
Today the g.p. has told me that the mri I had shows arthritis in my upper back and neck. He says its likely to be osteoarthritis rather than rheumatoid arthritis. I told him I have pain every day and it's bad. I also have pain in my hip, elbow and hands. He said to have more blood tests and see the physio

Just been diagnosed with opca, awaiting blood tests to determine type. Have a 24 year old daughter so hope it isn’t inherited! The consultant has strongly hinted he thinks it is MSA-C. Going to see him again on the 25th September for the results maybe. Was told it was plantar fasciitis !!

Blood test timing when insulin dependent
I have been underactive ever since RAI over thirty years ago. Unfortunately, due to poor management of thyroxine dosage (consultant didn't know what he was doing and left me to GP) I gained a lot of weight which just wouldn't shift. So I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was prescribed Metformin

ET and anaemia
I have ET with my platelets running at around 1200. I take aspirin, (another condition makes medication tricky). My last GP appt I had a blood test and I'm anaemic. This is the first time this has happened so its a bit concerning. Having them repeated so fingers crossed it will have been a blip

10dp5dt and less that 1 on Beta hcg blood test so think this must have failed this time.
my clinic still wants me to continue with PIO injections pessaries and test again at 14 days which I think is a bit excessive and a waste of money, pain and even more anguish. I thought the latest clinics say is 12 days post transfer. Does anyone else clinic say 14 days?
