IBS, possibly menopause, any advice
Hello, I’m looking for any advice if possible, I was diagnosed with IBS over 20 years ago now. I think I had it as a child, it seemed to come about right around the same time I got my periods at 11. Every month I would have horrendously heavy menstrual cycles that were so painful I’d almost pass out

Covid Injections for April 2024
Hi Everyone. Has anybody received a letter yet about their April Covid jab? You follow the NHS App and it brings up an out of date link telling you about Autumn 2023 jabs. It then tells you further down that the page will be updated in 2026. I just looked on my personal NHS account and nowhere can

We finally have a new Evusheld!
The FDA recently granted an emergency use authorization for a new Covid prophylactic for the immunocompromised. It's called Pemgarda and it is administered intravenously. It's like the former Evusheld in that it gives us antibodies (which is great for those of us who don't respond well to Covid vaccines

Thyroid question please...
Hi everyone, I am writing to ask if you can have a sore thyroid without significant enlargement and with 'normal' bloods? I have had 'normal' bloods, it doesn't seem visually enlarged, though I feel like I am being strangled and have audible sounds when I swallow in my ears. When I move my head something

Ramipril
I thought I would share with you my experience of a cough due to ramipril in case it helps someone else as I didn’t believe it would cause such an awful cough. I was prescribed ramipril after having a HA in July last years. No side effects at all. I got an awful cold in November which also came with

Chondocalcitis incurable?
At least that's how I think it's spelt. It's a specialised form of RA and I have it in my left knee (along with normal RA in shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers. It's also called Pseudogout but as the crystals in Chondocalcitis are calcium they can't be dispersed as the uric acid crystals in ordinary

Getting Off of Painkillers
I started seeing a pain management doctor about 4 years ago for severe lower back pain. One of the first things she did was put me on 5 mg Hydrocodone four times a day and gave me a steroid injection. Over the years, I have had several radio frequency ablations and a handful of steroid injections. The

Hi All, Since 2013... my life has been somewhat a constant fear of one disease or the other. Thank to Doc google. I havent had a night in peace for the last atleast 10 years. It started in 2013 with lightheadedness which made me go to an ent. He said symptoms are of bppv and prescribed some medicines

Overactive Bladder Syndrome
Bit strange to post this here but bear with me please. It seems that many of the med's for OAB have a side effect of high heart rate. I've been diagnosed with Paroxysmal Tachycardia and am trying Tolterodine for my OAB (which increased my comfort level considerably) but have had to stop as my monthly

Is a massage ok with PMR etc?
I have PMR (on 5mg currently) and also have pain on walking caused by spinal stenosis/ degeneration of lumbar spine and left hip etc. I also had a steroid injection a while back for bursitis in my right hip. My daughter would like to give me a massage as a Mothers’s Day gift and I’d love to have one
