5 years after thyroidectomy due to MTC I'm having the most awful episodes with racing heart, chest tightness, tingling in extremities, dizziness, nausea and a sort of giddy feeling. Had ECG and heart was fine, BP also good. GP thought it was anxiety and prescribed Xanax for the short term. I wonder if it's T3 levels as these are not checked by my Endo, or could I be perimenopausal, or does this sound familiar to anyone at all? I'm just fed up being ill and constantly unable to drive or function"normally". I do have recurring MTC, which they haven't located as yet and had another cancerous lymph node removed from my next last October, but just wish I had some semblance of me! Sorry for long post x

I'm in the Republic and had blood drawn last week, will get results next week. I'm 52 but still getting regular, long and painful periods, but I could be perimenopausal also. Just would like to know how to stop these awful episodes...
