Serious Question
I was advised I need thyroid replacement years back. I was active, healthy, walked 2 miles 3 x week. I was surprised , but trusted. I immediately felt like I was like someone on amphetamines. Finally after 4 3/4 yrs. I withdrew telling the MD. Most of the extreme complaints have gone or lessen. How much

Prazosin revisited
The sheer beauty of the retrospective study posted recently by Scout4answers is the vast superiority in Recurrence Free Survival for Prazosin users over a ten-year period not only against controls but against a similar drug, Tamsulosin. IMHO this means that selection bias is much less likely. Prazosin

Your experience with going on SS disability

prostate infection
I asked my doctor if I still have prostate infection. He said no but no testing was done. ( I still have a prostate gland not treated). I was treated for an infection most likely around the age of 35. Doctor would do DRE collect prostate fluid under a microscope and treat with anti-biotics of some

Update on "How credible is my report"
Finally got an explanation as to why my DCFPyl PET scan was reported as radical prostatectomy and not a prior RT . My GP called the radiology lab (in my presence) and got another Radiologist to review the scans. He confirmed the 4 'uptakes' and said he could understand the initial radiologist interpretation

Autophagy and cancer
Autophagy, typically achieved by 2 - 4 days of fasting, appears to have a dual role in cancer progression. During the early stage of cancer, autophagy plays a protective role to suppress malignant transformation. However, in the established tumour, autophagy supports and enhances tumour growth. From

Testosterone “Flare” (Or Testosterone?) Timing to Optimize Salvage Radiation Therapy
I have referred to the following article a few times in response to some posts about the use and timing of ADT when used in addition (adjuvant) to improve outcomes from salvage radiation therapy for BCR for failure after primary prostate treatment (surgical or radiation or other). Also for recurrences

Are MRI with coil and biopsy needed for BCR recurrence in prostate for cryotherapy, HIFU, Tulsa Pro or Brachytherapy?
After posting questions on ADT options for BCR oligometastasis, we have new development/input from RO and MO which makes us delay starting hormone therapy now. We would really appreciate members' input and advice so that we can make informed decision. Brief background, my husband was diagnosed in Dec
