Pride comes before a fall! Anticoagulant thoughts.
Good evening everyone, Well there I was, floating on my little cloud of self-satisfaction, thinking I’d kicked the AF monster good and proper once I got my sleep apnoea under control. My nightly AF episodes became a thing of the past - bliss! You all know what’s coming next though, don’t you. That

My back story is I’ve had AF for about 18 months. Usually episodes are once a month and last about 12 hours. However recently they have been more often and lasting longer. I’ve seen a cardiologist and my heart is at the moment structurally sound which is good. Also during an episode I can usually

Empaglifloxin
Hi everyone, Not had great news this week. I'm not tolerating entresto unfortunately. I'm staying on it for another 4 weeks and if my BP doesn't stabilise I will go onto losartan. However, consultant wants me to start on empaglifloxin. I not entirely sure why? Do any of you know what it does?

Flecainide v Bisoprolol?
I was diagnosed with AF 18 months ago and put on daily Bisoprolol in April last year. Unfortunately though it reduced my episodes it also made me tired and lethargic and gain quite a bit of weight! After seeing my cardiologist I came off it in late October but since then have had 9 Afib episodes lasting

Update - suffering worse
Last week my husband saw his neurologist for an update. His dose of Gabapentin was raised to 1200mg at night (2 x 600mg) - only other meds are Bisoprolol and Escitalopram - taken for over 15 years. Since raising the dose of Gabapentin his condition is getting worse. His PLMA is so bad, when he goes

Still in HF?
Hi all, First post. This is a great forum, very informative and supportive. Diagnosed with hypertension 18 months ago, usual ACE inhibitors took 6 months to lower BP. Then came AF, on Atenolol and Eliquis, but side effects, and GP switched me to Bisoprolol. Symptoms worsened and I ended up hospitalized

unstable angina
Hi I have been in and out of hospital since December with unstable angina. I am currently waiting for my 3rd angiogram so they can try drilling the blockage and fit a stent. 100 percent blocked right coronary artery double vessel disease. I am on so many tablets that I feel, like a zombie. Lisinopril

long term outlook on arrhythmias
I know most of you have AF, whereas I have atrial flutter/SVT/atrial tachycardia. I had an ablation for flutter in October 2020 and am now 55. I enjoyed 3 peaceful years, taking only medication for an under active thyroid and an anticoagulant ( my choice , not the doctors). On Thursday evening my heart

LVSD diagnosis
Hi all, This is a great forum full of excellent advice and personal experiences. I’m 57 and in December was fine. Went on a winter hol, walked miles. New Year’s Eve, started to feel rough. Viral infection. Off sick for a week. By 19th, woke up feeling breathless and ended up in A&E. Long and short

Here we go again!
I had an ablation for atrial flutter in October 2020 and have been episode free until last night, when I was blue-lighted to resus with over 200bpm. Back on Bisoprolol which makes me feel tired all the time and feeling a bit flat this morning. I was hoping that the 95% success rate for flutter might
