Dronedarone(Multaq) The good and the bad.?
Am curious to know the experiences of others taking this drug. Hav e been on it for more than three years now with diminishing effect on my PAF. Breakthroughs every 10 to 20 days with an AF duration of about 6 to 7 hours which I help to abort by then taking Bisoprolol 2,5 mg which reduces my heart rate

Stopping medications
Hello everyone! Long story short, last May I had an episode of atrial flutter and I had to do a cardioversion. After that, I was put on bisoprolol and rivoraxoban but unfortunately I got a lot of terrible side effects. The bisoprolol made me really exhausted and I gained 7kilos of fluids. The rivoraxoban

Second anniversary of HA and hopefully we’ll on the mend
Good reason to celebrate today as it’s two years to the day that my life was saved by those wonderful NHS folks. Suffered a Stemi / widow maker, but 4 stents got me up and running again. Luckily I live only 8 minutes away from the Leicester Glenfield Heart Unit and an ambulance was in the area. From

Happy 1st Anniversary Bypass!
This is a long one so I'll apologise first. On this day at this time exactly one year ago, I was starting to get myself ready for the theatre - the operating theatre that is and they came to collect me just after lunchtime. At 9:30pm that same night I was being wheeled back to IT after my triple bypass

I had valve replacement four days later.Since then I have had routine follow ups. I am taking Ramopril, Amlodopine, Bisoprolol. Frusemide etc. This week

medication for AF
I am on Bisoprolol and Edoxaban but my cardio doctor has given me a choice of trying medication or ablation to cure it as it’s not constant I can’t have cardioversion . I went with the medication option I was on Amiodarine previously but I just wonder what medication has cured AF for others if cure

Scary new diagnosis
Hello At 63, I've had autoimmune problems for several years which have steadily led to my becoming housebound. Last week, I had a Cardiology review which turned up unexpected but pretty advanced heart disease. My review letter arrived today and says I have "severe LV impairment" with "cardiomyopathic

AF episode on holiday. Advice needed please
I am at the end of a two week holiday in Madeira and due to fly home tomorrow. Last night out of the blue I started an episode of AF and took 50mg flecainide and 2.5 mg bisoprolol but 6 hours later I am still in AF. Incidentally this is my first episode since 2013. I don’t know what to do as I am worried

Meds post ablation.
Hello. I am 52 and in discussions to have an ablation, probably, in a few months. My Afib was spurred by an overactive thyroid and as far as I can tell I am in pretty much constant Afib. I don't have any major symptoms but if I check my heart rate / rhythm they are always irregular. When I have had EKGs

Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram
I was offered a Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram today and told to stop my beta blocker (Bisoprolol) 48 hours beforehand. It’s on February 14th at 3.30. I take Bisoprolol at 8am and I rang to ask whether I should it on Sunday as I take it in the morning. They seemed to be unsure but decided I should

What would you do?
Can I please ask for some opinions on my situation. I know the majority of people on this forum are not clinically trained but I have found your posts so helpful as you are the people living with this "affliction". I was diagnosed with AF at the beginning of October after an overnight stay in hospital

Clopidegrol or Ticagrelor
I have asked my GP to review my medication since my HA and stent op in Sept 2022. I am on the usual Asprin Ramipril Ticagrelor Bisoprolol Atorvastatin. I have been getting burning arm pains since then. He only suggested changing Ticagrelor to Clopidegrol. I am really in confused state as to whether to
