Active Surveillance/2nd Biopsy
Hello everyone, I just received the results from my 2nd prostate bx while on active surveillance. Mycophenolate - Anyone know anything good/bad about this drug.
Might have a muscle
biopsy
, waiting for opinion from Neurologist. So I'm now being asked to go onto Mycophenolate & having read up a little about it I don't like the sound of it's possible side effects.

Imagine if the prostrate
biopsy
was done without anaesthetic and each grab lasted a second or two rather then being an instant. Ouch!!! I’m now in recovery, feeling a bit unsteady and queasy but so glad I’ve got it over and done with.

MRI with contrast dye
I have confirmed by skin
biopsy
8 years ago UP / CM. Annual tryptase levels have for last 6 years been in 30s, gradually increasing from 14 previous 4 years. Also awaiting haematology appointment with possible bone marrow testing. Main concern, should I consent to contrast dye for MRI?

Cirrhosis or PBC ?
Is there a way to know besides a
biopsy
if it's his bile ducts? THE LONG STORY The doctors are stumped. We are bummed. Here we are, nearing retirement age, and all we want for Christmas is his good health back! My husband (age 58) is not a diabetic. He is not overweight. Never has been.

Non small cell carcinoma in lung.
I have recently been diagnosed with non small cell carcinoma of the lung by the Royal Brompton. They sent a letter to my GP requesting an urgent 2 week referral to local oncology, GP surgery said they hadn't received the part of the letter asking for the referral. I emailed them a copy as they requested

MRIs for marrow analysis?
I know it's more limited than a
biopsy
but if this study is using it there must be things we care about via this method.

Had Colonoscopy - Clean but....
1) no polyps 2) non-bleeding internal -hemorrhoids (moderate and grade 1) 3) localized area of mildly vascular-pattern decreased mucosa was found in sigmoid colon (
biopsy
taken but was told nothing there) 4) asked to come back in 5 years for surveillance. What do I make of # 3?

Newly Diagnosed high risk PCa at age 52
Opted for MRI instead of
biopsy
. 3T MRI found extensive evidence of prostatitis, but no indications of neoplasia. No symptoms. May 2022 - PSA down to 4.3. Normal DRE May 2023 - PSA up to 6.8. UCLA Health urologist finds nodule on right side during DRE. Blind
biopsy
scheduled.

Gleason score 7 (3+4)
Biopsy
showed 12 out of 16 cores. In June 2019 he had Robotic surgery. We were told everything went very well. His PSA dropped to <0.05. This lasted until September 2020 when his PSA started to increase 0.46. And continued to rise.

cirrhosis or not??
After many blood tests/fibro scans etc I had a Liver
Biopsy
. Unfortunately, this showed I had Cirrhosis of the Liver and I was unable to go forward with the study. After going with this to my GP, I was referred to a Liver Specialist.
