Jury out on CoQ10???
Spent a bit of time researching CoQ10/Ubiquinol. Seems to me that the Jury is still out on it. I can understand and go along with the theory of what Coq10 is, what it is for, its importance in the muscles department and elsewhere in the body, how it is produced in the liver? , how age and statin use

I have hypertension and after an yearly health check(blood test) I was told I had high cholesterol levels advised to go on statins. I do not want to go on these drugs so I am trying to adjust my diet and also I know I have to become more active, any thoughts. thank you.

I need a rant but also any help you can give.
What I believe to be thyroid issues go untreated yet again - the blood tests 'prove' I don't have a problem with my thyroid (thanks GP). I'm beginning to feel like a hypochondriac but thankfully I'm not being treated like one (yet). I'm pretty sure that's because I've had cancer twice so they don't want

polygenic familiar combined hyperlipidemia
Bit of a mouthful. But seems to be the reason for my high cholesterol levels. Has anybody been diagnosed and treated for this. If so were meaningful reductions in cholesterol levels made with statins.

Hi guys, I’m used to the bruises now but I’ve found a lump in my thigh the size of my thumb. It hurts like a bruise and I’m sure it’s a little bit blue in colour. I also have a pain in the back of my head. I’m sitting in my GP waiting room so I will update soon. Anyone had this? 2 stents 6 months ago

Hypothyroid and high cholesterol
Just a quick query, how long does it usually take before cholesterol levels start to fall following starting taking levothyroxine? I am only on 50 mcg of levothyroxine but due another increase in a few weeks, I was wondering if cholesterol would start to fall as soon as levo was commenced or would I

Advice & Guidance please
Dear friends of Thyroid UK, I would be very grateful once again for some advice and guidance I went to see my GP who spent 25 minutes with me discussing the results of my blood test very in depth listen to everything I had to say. I think this was helped by the fact that he had a newly qualified doctor

AFib better after stroke
I have contributed in the past to the forum, but this post is the first I have started. I have had paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AFib) at least since the beginning of 2016. I doubt if I would have known, had I not checked my pulse, as there have never been any of the distressing symptoms that I keep

Anyone else tried Taureen. ( also: statins, any link to RLS)
It's used in energy drinks to stop the jitters so I've been trying it for the last month, 2 x 500mg capsules early evening and crawling feelings duration reduced drastically but not totally gone yet but getting more sleep than I have in years. Legs still very active in daytime but that may be habit

Co Q10
I read all sorts about this. And statins depleting it. Does anybody have any experience of it. My statin dose is very high at 80mg. Fortunately not aware of any side effects after two months of taking it. Now almost two months after my HA and stunting. Trying to implement lifestyle changes to reduce

Low Carb Diet May Shorten Life
Having been Type I Diabetic since childhood my ears pricked up when I heard this on the news his morning := https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-45195474 Because of my diabetes I have been carb counting for over half a century. Some consultants have had different ideas (mainly in the seventies) but these
