Low iron high cholesterol
Does anyone know if low iron causes high cholesterol? My cholesterol is very high after taking 40 mgs of statins a day. Just found out my iron is low. I have googled a few things about it but haven't found out much.

How I Conquered Heart-Disease and What I Have Learned in the Process
Before I relay the story, please read this first: What is the nature of your diet? Do you consume: - soft drinks, alcohol or fruit juices? If so, how often? - pasta, rice, bread, pizza, potatoes? - potato chips (crisps), pretzels, crackers? - fried foods (including fried eggs)? French fries? -

Good afternoon all. I went in and had another stent fitted on the 5th of February after a bit of a wait and 3 ambulance call outs, the third one they kept me in as they said I was a high risk. So confused
I was diagnosed with very mild build up in 2 small arteries the only reason they gave me the scan was because I pushed for it, Drs kept telling me my chest pain which i get every day, was anxiety, even after the diagnosis they said the amount of build up didn't warrant how much pain I was getting, I

Ezetimibe
Does anyone on here take zetia or ezetimibe for cholesterol? I cannot tolerate the pain that statins cause and my cholesterol has gone up since I have been off Lipitor.

I have some atheroma
I have had a CT angiogram recently and i have a narrowing of the right coronary artery at the beginning. In the left CA there was the appearance of a possible lesion in the mid left anterior descending but they thought this was artifactual and so not related to me (does this mean it was a screen fault

Statins
On the back of TheAwfulToad's post re Dwight Lundell, consider this: If you've had a heart attack and take statins for 5 years as a consequence, trusting you are doing the right thing, your extended lifespan would be considerable and worth putting up with the side effects up to and including rhabdomyolysis

Dietary interventions for heart disease
This is one of the most extraordinary videos about heart disease I've seen, and I thought it might be of general interest. Dr Lundell is a retired heart surgeon who became distressed by seeing people traipse through his operating theatre with the same old problems, and asked himself: why is this happening

Good morning all. I'm on the waiting list for Mitral Valve Repair at Essex Cardiothoracic Centre having been diagnosed with severe M V Prolapse. I've already had the Transosoph Echo & Lung Function tests. Yesterday I went for an Angiogram expecting just the above to be confirmed. I should say here that

Diet tips
Hi, I’m after some basic advice (getting an appointment with my GP is like waiting for summer). I’ve just found out that my cholesterol is 12.4, was told it should be 8.4. I’m a 65 year old female, I eat a healthy, low fat diet & weigh 9 stones. I’ve been been informed that it must be hereditary &

My cholesterol results
Thought I would post my results on here too after putting them on BHF probably by mistake. I was put on 40mg statins in may 2018 after the shock of a 99%blockage in my LAD and the usual stent procedure that then followed. I disagreed with taking statins and dropped my cholesterol from 5.2 to 4.3 with

Crazy beat.
Hi all, Im sat having a cuppa, nice and chilled and my heart suddenly started to Labour. You can see it bumping through my clothes. Is this usual? I’m feeling fine if a bit lethargic. It goes as fast as it came on? I’m have Paroxysm AF. I’m on statins, pradaxa and 10 mg of bisoprolol. All the meds suit

Cholesterol Results
Just got blood results back for other reasons other than cholesterol. Bit doc did the lot anyway! my question is that I've noticed my triglycerides level says Above average..I'm a bit surprised by that one bearing in mind I've been on 40mg statins since last May. And before I started taking statins

Hi all, My cholesterol level is slightly raised and I’m keen to see if I can reduce it without the need for statins through a few key healthy diet modifications and regular exercise, as well as the gentle introduction of the some cholesterol reducing foods, and regular INR monitoring. I wondered if
