Does DBS control non motor problems, like sleep?
I’ve been diagnosed six years now (I’m 76). Three years in, my neurologist suggested DBS so I spoke to a neurosurgeon who has done many of these procedures. He said DBS works on “motor symptoms only.” Since medicine works for me, I did not go ahead. Recently I spoke to a friend in biotech who

Did not expect this..
Saw my neuro today... I'v been taking c/l and requip. Doc said with the amount of c/l I'm currently on 250mg 6 times a day and only getting 60-90 min of relief and my age (57) I would be the perfect candidate for DBS surgery which might grant me 10-15 years of a better quality of life. I asked if he

Scared/ Urgent referral
Just got a call from the clinic today, I was just there with my optometrist yesterday. She said he made an urgent referral for me to see a retina specialist, she called me quite early. I think it has to do with my eye pressure and I am so scared for this brain tumor assumption coming to life. He made

Worrying I have a brain tumour again
Hi everyone, I’m starting to worry I have a brain tumour again, after a very bad migraine incident, I’ve had constant headaches everyday that just don’t go away no matter what. It’s different types of headaches, some like tension and others like migraine and even experiencing ice pick headaches now.

Thyroid and Adrenals
Hi, I have low morning cortisol and just don’t have the energy to make it through the day. I take NDT and top up with t3 but my t4 levels are always low and out of range. I think when I try to raise my NDT it potentially back fires due to low cortisol? I have had 3 SST tests done and I pass every time

High dose Thiamine update
I am convinced that overtime I’d need much less Thiamine compared to the initial dose when started taking it. My guess is that Genes related to methylation upregulated and switched on therefore they do the job with less Thiamine. I was taking 4grs daily for months then 3grs for another 6 months or so

Shingles
I have been diagnosed with shingles. I noticed a rash on Thursday, however because it wasn’t hurting at all I didn’t think much of it which was very silly of me! I went to the doctor on yesterday as it was spreading and i was told it was shingles. I’m surprised that after now 6 days the rash is there

Methotrexate hair loss
Hi everyone, I’m new on here and could really use some advice. I’ve had RA for about 8 years but only started treatment in the last few years as my symptoms progressed. I’ve been on Methotrexate for the last 6 months, 4 on 15mg and 2 on 25mg. My hair started to shed early on but has really started to

Shingles injection
I've finally made it down to 1/2mg every other day. My Doctor wants me to have the shingles injection. Does anyone know if this can cause an issue?? I've been reducing the pred for 2 1/2 yrs, very very slowly and haven't had a flare and don't want one at this stage. Appreciate any thoughts. many

Terrified again of brain tumor!
So I've been having some eye issues. My vision is very blurry and also hazy. I do stay on my phone literally all day long. My eyes are dry and they burn slightly. I googled of course and read that this could be a brain tumor. I've also been having headaches but they seem to have subsided. Has anyone

This has got to be a brain tumor!
My symptoms are headaches ( not severe) they come and go. Body jerks while resting, but the most frightening is my vision looks milky or cloudy. It's also blurred. In both eyes. I do mess around on my phone for 16-19 hours a day...everyday. My room is very dim. I have googled (of course) and all I see

Breaking fast early today... ❀
Today I woke up rather early, and honestly lately I feel very rested after only 5-6 hours of sleep, but I digress, what I wanted to say was that when I woke up this morning I looked into the mirror and noticed that my skin was glowing, my face, and arms and chest looked luminescent, I felt rested and

Why You Should Be Careful With Niacin and Nicotinamide Riboside
Are you using niacin or nicotinamide riboside? If so, watch this video! These supplements can help you age more gracefully and give you more energy, but they can also hurt your liver, mess with your neurotransmitters and your mood, and even sap your energy. https://youtu.be/P5UMfCW_23w

Gastric Issues after Meningitis?
I am 8 months post meningitis. I am still struggling with after effects. Trembling, brain fog and numb spots. My question....Anyone have gastric issues? Diarrhea? Mine has been bad last week or so. Appetite has never been totally back to normal. I never can tell if new symptoms are meningitis related
