Gastric Issues after Meningitis?

I am 8 months post meningitis. I am still struggling with after effects. Trembling, brain fog and numb spots. My question....Anyone have gastric issues? Diarrhea? Mine has been bad last week or so. Appetite has never been totally back to normal. I never can tell if new symptoms are meningitis related or not. Just wondering what all of you think.

I had meningococcal meningitis back in May, I get brain fog, dizziness, mood swings, all that brain stuff, I've noticed my appetite hasn't been the same since, also my taste in food has changed foods I used to eat and love, I'm now not so keen on, as for gastric issues, I've not noticed anything recently, but it did take ages to get back to normal, but then, everyone is affected differently

I know this probably wasn't much help, but I know how it feels when you get a new symptom and don't know if it's meningitis related or not

Thanks. I swear I have no clue as to whether the meningitis is causing all this or not. I have a bad habit of blaming everything that feels different or works differently on it. Makes me soooo mad at myself. I was never sick before and now I feel "something " every day.

Horrible! I am going to be a grandmother for the first time in December and I have got to get my shit together SOON!

I know exactly what you mean, literally anything different and I think it must be something to do with it. It is so easy to just blame it for everything.

At least you have something to try and focus on, becoming a grandmother and being there for your new grandchild.

I wish I had all the answers, i truly do, I do know it takes time, more time than I ever imagined it would, feeling like you should be back to normal but at the same time feeling like every little thing is meningitis related. I hope things start to get easier soon

Yep, you too! Hope we can all get through this massive head game. Today my ear hurts, so I am thinking "Is the infection going to my brain?". I am always on the verge of flipping out.

Yeah I hope so too. I know that feeling, I remember getting ear ache and it reminded me of pain I had when I was ill so my head immediately went to it coming back. And when I get a headache it always crosses my mind, I am a headache sufferer anyway so it's normal to get headaches for me, but it still enters your mind. I hope your earache is better

Thanks! Now my ears are plugged up. I swear I was never so conscious of physical changes. Now all the time.

I know what you mean, i notice things, even little things and it does make you feel paranoid, I find I have good days and bad days, but if I feel a new pain or something, I do find myself worrying about it, I swear my brain makes things up sometimes just to scare me
