Terrified again of brain tumor!

So I've been having some eye issues. My vision is very blurry and also hazy. I do stay on my phone literally all day long. My eyes are dry and they burn slightly. I googled of course and read that this could be a brain tumor. I've also been having headaches but they seem to have subsided. Has anyone else experienced this vision problem from too much phone use? I am in full panic mode!!!

Melly, do some deep breathing Whew... Never google any symptoms, it only feeds into

the worst case scenario. Of course, only a doctor can diagnose something catastrophic

going on. However, I can tell you from the anxiety point of few that it is more likely to

be dry eye syndrome from spending so much time on the cell. I use a computer

and the brightness of the screen makes my eyes blurry and burn from overusing and

straining my eyes. What is important to do is to take breaks where you can focus your

eyes on something in the distance for a few minutes. It's a way to relax the muscles.

Also to remember to blink several times every so often to help lubricate the eyes.

I use Artificial tear drops several times a day.

Headaches can come from the tensed muscles in the way we hold our neck and head.

Try to reduce the time you are on your phone. See a doctor if it continues but right

now, remove that thought of a brain tumor from your mind and enjoy your evening/day.

Modern technology was not meant to use throughout our waking hours. Take time to

do things you enjoy outside. Be with friends. I think you would start feeling better. :) xx

Thank you Agora1. Like I said, I understand the blurriness, but it's this hazy thing that has me panicked. I've never had this before. All of my friends live in a different city. I never made any here. I'm pretty much just stuck in my bedroom all day, everyday. Do your eyes ever have a haziness? Brain tumor has always been my worst fear.

You haven't got a brain tumour as you would have a lot more symptoms than this. You are straining your eyes by using them all day. Get yourself off that phone and go out for a walk and you will feel a lot better. x

Thanks hypercat. But could it be causing the haziness? Freaking me out!

When I get that haziness, I gently run my finger over the closed eye lid

and it usually makes it clearer again. xx

Agora1, it's really weird. I only notice it when I'm outside. And I have rubbed them gently but it doesn't go away. 😥😥😥

Have you had your eyes checked recently??

No. Not for 7 years. I've worn glasses and/or contacts since I was in the 4th grade. They're still hazy and they feel like they're on fire. You are so sweet! ❤❤

Melly, I suggest you see your eye doctor. Eyes change frequently in young people.

Why feel uncomfortable. Maybe just a change in prescription could make a world

of difference. :) Let him also know about your dry eyes. He may give you prescription drops to soothe them. Let us know after you see the doctor. xx

If someone truly is concerned about brain tumor they would stay off their phone.,,, Find something else to obsess on and symptoms will go away.

Cicinoodle, I agree however sometimes the answer is too simple and

too difficult to break the habit that we tend to want a way to "have our cake

and eat it too". We can be our own worst enemy at times. :) xx

I’ve experienced that haziness when I’ve been on my phone a lot, and I have dry eyes too. Same with the blurry vision. My mom has a brain tumor and she actually didn’t have any of those symptoms. It’s pretty unlikely that anything serious is wrong. I would still get your eyes checked though, because if you need glasses that’s not going to help. I never realize how much I need new glasses till I get them lol.

Thank you for your reply. Health anxiety is just horrible. I'm going to stay off my phone as much as I can starting today. Again...thank you! ❤

At any age, with vision issues, it is important to get your eyes checked. I go annually, and read a lot, and find that after reading for 30 minutes or so that my distance vision is poorer. The eye doctors say that usually while focusing intently on things, we blink less which causes dryness in our eyes. I have been told to use the OTC eye drops Systane in several formulations such as Ultra and Balance. Other makers have different formulations as well. It is fine to use them several times a day, whenever your eyes feel tired or dry. My doctor also told me to take fish oil pills three times a day to help combat this issue.

Thank you for your reply. I started using eye drops yesterday. Last night they were burning so badly. I've needed to go to the eye dr. for a while now. My vision has always been bad. So I'll make an appointment. Thank you again! ❤

Hi melly I would think only thing you've got is exhaustion if your using your phone all day I presume to play games and Facebook! Please don't worry you sound as if you need to take regular breaks from the Internet esp using Facebook! Please don't use Google to look up what you think you've got don't get me wrong Google has its place but do not use to try and diagnose who is wrong or not with you! I wish you all the best david p.s I had a brain haemorrhage 6 years ago so I spent time thinking about what if it happens again so don't waste time worrying david

Thank you David. I'm trying to take many breaks today. When I 1st went outside this morning that haziness was gone. Of course it came back. My eyes are so dry. Yes, I'm on FB a lot and also play games on this phone. I know dr google is bad. I have a friend who has visual snow. She had an MRI and it was normal. But everything I looked up about it suggested brain tumor. It can be caused by anxiety. I hope you're doing well! Thank you for your reply! ❤❤❤
