Niacin. Your thoughts?
I didn't find any hard evidence. Part of niacin converts into NAD+. I don't think that would be good. And the proven HDL increase doesn't seem to make much difference in actual cardiac risk (perhaps HDL is a marker and artificially changing it doesn't affect the root contributors to cardiac risk?).

New blood test results – need advice
Hello everyone, I am 35 years old, female with Hashimoto's. I take 150mcg levothyroxine and 25mcg liothyronine. I follow a strictly gluten, dairy and egg free diet and mostly avoid soy except for lecithins and tamari sauce if I have sushi. I take my levo before bed, 2 hours after food. I take my first

shingles vaccination
I thought I posted but something went wrong! I have recurring shingles, had it since age 25. I have it currently. I read the shingles post and see shingrix is best option - I have pmr and on very low dose steroid at 2per day dropping slowly to one per day. (10 per week). I want a private vaccination

Urgent advice needed on labs - very very high FT3, I'm freaking out.
Hello, Below are the results of my labs I had done this Friday. I have been taking T3 only for a year. I kept increasing the dose because I don't have any symptoms of hyperthyroid or too much T3. My pulse is around 60, blood pressure is very low, BBT around 36, and that is only recently since I had

Shingles vaccination
I know catching shingles with PMR is a complete no-no, but does anyone know if we are OK having the vaccination? I imagine if we are, it’s a good idea

Microbiomes of Urine and the Prostate Are Linked to Human Prostate Cancer Risk Groups
I have stayed away from this topic, but so many have posted & I don't think a link to the actual paper has been given. Apologies if not the case. Anyway, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35450835/

Can B Complex Cause Pins and Needles
Hi As some of you may remember I'm the pins and needles lady, whose had weird tingling, itching since October. All this time I've blamed Levo for my symptoms, or my fibromyalgia. I'm now having some neurological investigations, I've got nerve conduction studies this week and a brain and spinal cord

Latest test results look odd to me. Any suggestions why, would be welcome
I should start by telling you that Ft3 and Ft4 were taken a week apart. No, that’s not strictly true. Blood was drawn for all tests at the same time but for some unfathomable reason the lab decided to omit TSH and Ft4. On speaking to GP a few days later she siad it was common practice to omit requwstwd

What is Stereotactic Radio Surgery & some information please?
I think I'm going to be offered this at Addenbrooks for Brain Cancer. Questions are:- How many sessions require? Do you stay in hospital? Is it a hard treatment to take/side effects? I'm told they could be doubtful on treatment because walking is poor, why does this matter? Does treatment kill tumour

It was perfect when zoloft worked for me but time is over
I have a "pure O", but I think, I have undiagnosted subtype of OCD, in which the first awful symptome must be the inerty thinking, which means I am very dumb sometimes. But this happens only because I have uncontrolled thoughts every minute, I can't be away of them. When I was taking Zoloft 25 mg,

Biotin in RT3 testing
Hello all, I’ve made a bit of an oversight and realised I’ve not stopped my B complex a week before an RT3 test! I took my last on Thursday morning and will have my blood drawn at Tuesday lunchtime. So first question I suppose is does an RT3 only assay use biotin in the process? And if so, is
