Don't Stop Knocking on the Doctor's Door! 20 Years of Pain Before my Diagnosis. This was Never Solely IBS!
I want to post this as encouragement for all those who know there's something wrong but have been told to do some yoga and take a few pills. I battle with a chronic illness. To all who have prayed, listened, cared, supported, not given up when I almost did, and have been there for me- thank you. For

...so I lost my job today
Firstly thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. They provided me with a glimmer of hope and comfort. Unfortunately despite my best efforts, I was dismissed today. I'll never get to the true reason why and I can't fight it as was one month under 2 years service. They used something small

Think I'm going to lose my job tomorrow
So yesterday I got an email through off a new boss to say I've being called to a capability hearing which is tomorrow. When I read the reasons they are not directly related to my job role and more about contributing to the business. It's a really odd move for this company because normally they are more

10k tomorrow and need some advice!
Hi all I have a 10k run tomorrow and my sole aim is to just do it; I am not worried about times at the moment. I had a bad Achilles tendon injury which has healed well through a combination of cross training at the gym - elliptical machine and treadmill. Having healed my tendon, on Thursday I bent over

Thyroid ultra vit check results - I would be so grateful of any help or advice
I am really hoping that someone can help me and advise me as I am very unwell more than I am well-ish. I do understand that sufferers of Hashimotos will never feel as well as they used to, but my life is so dominated by symptoms that make leading a normal life impossible. I have had an all too common

Hackney Half Event report.
It is the day after my HM. I usually write a report on how it went, this year is no different in some ways but in others ways there is a massive difference. It was my last HM for a couple of years. My physio and doctor have advised me to take a break from distances as my body needs to fully adjust

How do you cope with GERD attacks and gall bladder pain and what on earth do you eat?!
When originally diagnosed with a hiatus Hernia and GERD (don't even remeber being diagnosed with gall stones as they weren't causing any problems) the painful attacks used to be few and far between and were just that...painful. Fast forward a few years, attacks are generally hours of pain, sweating

Hi, I’m new to this forum. I’m hoping to get some advice with the problem I’m having. I have had five surgeries on my spine. While I was recovering from one surgery, I had a bad night and ended up pulling the catheter out accidentally. Ever since that surgery, I have been getting muscle spasms in

Why won't the NHS give me an iron infusion?
Had anybody managed to get an iron infusion on the NHS? My ferritin level is 6. The GP had requested an infusion from haematology. They have denied it saying that it is inherently dangerous and I just have to take tablets. Problem is, I've taken 200mg x 3 /day of ferrous sulphate previously for months

best ferritin supplement?
Well, after a sleep study & associated labs, I'm told my ferritin is 55 (range 20-228) and the doctor wants it to be at least 70. (Thyroid & all other numbers look good, however.) The nurse in the office called and recommended ferrous sulfate 325 MG, 2x day, and warned me that it causes constipation

Hi, I had a HA nearly four weeks ago. Just before discharge I was told that I was anaemic after having to take naproxen and codeine nine weeks previously post operatively after a shoulder reconstruction. GP put me onto 200mg of ferrous sulphate twice a day. And yet, even after four weeks I am still
