I'm new member, my name is Donna.
I've been taking ursodiol for week and 2 days. Was given to prevent gallstones. After bariatric weight loss surgery, the rash and itching especially on the hands I can't deal with, will it hurt to stop it?

Upset after another useless doctor's appointment
Just left the doctor feeling like crying. I am 41, have had 2 kids (one by c-sec), have always had heavy periods and taken tranexamic acid / mefenamic acid but recently things have been worse. More recently I have started getting pain at the end of my period (last day or the day after) which comes on

Hello, I've just joined.
Hi, As you can guess I have PMR, I was diagnosed early in the year. My doctor started me on 15mg prednisolone, 2 x 600mg Accrete D3 and 70mg Alendronic Acid. The latter is taken once a week. I'm now down to 6mg prednisolone and with luck hitting 5mg in a little over a week. I take the predn half in the

What pain relief works for you?
The latest I’ve been prescribed is mefenamic acid but it doesn’t work at all! Codeine doesn’t either. Unsure what to do next? My pre op was 24/10 but I had a letter today and it’s been rescheduled to the 3/11 which is annoying! Currently sat on the sofa with a hot water bottle, i usually only get

my weekend experience
You were very helpful last week when I wrote about the effects of reducing from 25mg to 20mg. I decided to go back to 25mg which led to a big reduction in pain. Then late on Friday I started to get a lot of GCA type pain all around my skull and temples, something I hadn't experienced since starting steroids

Advice from the awesome "aunties"
Doctor has asked me to reduce from 15 to 12.5 Pred, get blood tests done in 3 weeks and see her again in 4 weeks. Having read quite a lot here about tapering slowly I thought i would try the dead slow method. Is that relevant at this dosage? Sorry if this sounds a silly question, just wondered if I need

Raloxifene, please tell me the pros and cons
I have taken Alendronate Acid and Risedronate and suffered side effects. (I stopped taking Risedronate six weeks ago and I still have a burning pain in my stomach and disturbed sleep at night.) Please can I have some feed back about Raloxifene? I'm interested in anyone's experience with this treatment

I was treated as an out-patient in the rheumatology department of the orthopaedic hospital where I live, and I consider

Very tired.
Does anyone who is in early stages of PBC feel tired all the time? I have to take a nap every day and go to bed early. I was diagnosed early this year and starting last fall (a year ago) I have required lots of sleep. I take Ursodiol and it lowered my liver enzymes so it seems to be working. My biopsy

Leflunomide
Off to see consultant today. He says he wants to try Leflunomide if I haven't got down to 10mg pred. I've just got to 10.5 but struggling. Anyone else been offered this? Also Alendronate is being put forward which I am really worried about. I am on Adcal D3 but have never had a Dexa scan. Any suggestions

Mini pill and perimenopause
I'm 51 and have been on the mini pill for quite a few years! Blood tests say hormone levels are peri not postmenopausal. I currently have recurring period like cramps but no periods. Had a scan but all clear so was prescribed mefenamic acid which only helps a bit. I have hotflushes etc but the worst

2 Year Update PBC
Here's an update on how I am doing with PBC. It has been 2 years since I was diagnosed with PBC. Last year, I had no scarring and my inflammation was controlled through diet and Ursodiol. I was at stage 1, which is good. My liver specialist has been monitoring my blood work every 3 months and I have

Funny feeling in right big toe, diagnosed funny foot, then pins and needles in both feet and ankles, loads of blood tests , not diabetic, and seemingly no other deficiencies, but a while before this on a routine check was found to be short on Folic Acid. Was prescribed libertine by hospital consultant

Hello Everyone 😊 I hope this note finds all of you hopeful. We went too Elgie's consult with Dr. Eisenberger at Hopkins. I don't like waiting until the end of the story so I'll give you the end... we walked away feeling hopeful that lg is still in remission just because he said it.....no evidence
