UV lamp for Osteoporosis?
Hi, I’ve just started taking alendronic acid after being diagnosed with OP. I have been taking Adcal for years for osteopenia but fell whilst cycling fracturing both wrists hence a dexa & the resultant diagnosis. Does anyone have any experience of using a UV lamp?

Newbie!!
I am 71. Three years ago I started taking Atorvastatin as a precautionary measure, I'm assuming they are doing me some good. I broke my wrist Nov 11th 2016 and was sent for a dexascan. Results showed the onset of osteoporosis so I was prescribed a weekly Alendronic Acid tablet and Adcal-D3, to be taken

Have you taken bone strengthening meds since being on ADT?
I'm wondering how many of those who have bone mets, and are taking ADT have also taken or are taking bone strengthening meds such as Zolendronic Acid (Zometa) or Denosumab (Xgeva). I've taken one infusion of Zolendronic Acid so far, but will discuss continuing it with my doctor next week. On ADT, we

***Revision at conclusion***ALT, AST, Alk-phos and their possible insignificance in monitoring PBC progression?
Hello friends, Ever since I was diagnosed with PBC last year I've been anxious everytime I have my labs drawn. I'm always anxious to know all about what my Liver Function Tests (LFT's) numbers are and if they're rising. When I joined this group many were concerned about elevated AST, ALT, and Alk-phos

I'm new here
6 weeks ago I was diagnosed with PMR. I have been grieving for my partner who died from Prostate cancer 17 months ago and my world had become a grey, unappetising, unmotivated place. I was afraid of disappearing down the 'slippery slope' of depression that I have had a tendency to for many years,

Next, Adcal-D3 which is Calcium. lastly, boxes of Prednisolone starting with 40mg par day all in one hit. Then slowly

Intravenous bisphosphonates
I've looked through the archives and found a number of posts from members who decided against accepting intravenous bisphosphonates. In my case I took Alendronic Acid for a month (reluctantly) after being diagnosed with both GCA and PMR in late July. I stopped because of the acid reflux and oesophagal

Advice
I was diagnosed 2yrs ago after a laparoscopy and went back on pill just before. All was good for a year and so I came off pill as I didn’t want to be on it anymore (had been on for 15yrs which was why I came off before). I managed fine for about another year but then started to get bad a few months ago

Awaiting laparoscopy after negative scans ?endo
Hi everyone 🙋🏼 Ended up here after desperately hunting for answers. (Not so) brief history: 30yo always suffered from killer cramps and heavy periods as well as deep pain with sex (positional). Just accepted it and thought I was one of the unlucky ones. Always told I had a low pain threshold. Fast

Alk-phos climbing up... 😔
Hello all, Well, got my labs back. Everything is in normal range except my AMA M2 and my alk-phos. It's elevated yet again. Slowly over the past few months it's been climbing. It was 162 three weeks ago and it's 174 today. I'm taking the mid range level of my URSO for my weight but I'm still within

Appropriate Thiamine dose when taking R Alpha Lipoic Acid
I just began using R ALA (600 mg) and Methylcobalamin (4 mg) to address peripheral neuropathy and it appears to be benefiting me. I read in a recent reply by Silvestrov that its important to supplement Thiamine when one takes R ALA. Silvestrov or anyone here that has experience taking Thiamine concurrently

Private DEXA scans
I have noted a few people reporting they cannot get a DXA scan through their GP. It is of particular concern when they are told to take Alendronic acid to protect their bones. I had two scans done at a 2 year interval. When the next 2 years had passed my GP said I should take Alendronic acid. I was
