Steroids and osteoporosis?
I've recently been discharged from hospital following a severe flare up of my asthma resulting in intubation in ITU and a 9 week stay, in which time I've been started on alendronic acid which is apparently for osteoporosis which can be caused by steroids which i have been on for 10 weeks (intravenously

Osteoporosis treatment
Hi all, I’ve been told I have bad osteoporosis and was give alendronate and then risedronate both of which caused severe mouth ulcers, I’m due to go back and see my GP next week and wanted to see if anyone else has been given another treatment for this. I’m concerned my Dr won’t know what is best for

T4->T3 conversion & glutathione
Wondering if anyone here has done what this article suggests, and seen a clear result. https://www.nahypothyroidism.org/how-glutathione-influences-thyroid-hormone-conversion/ It appears the protocol is to take cysteine or n-acetyl cysteine, along with Bs, C, minerals, and ALA.

Alendronic acid & DEXA scan
At last I've found a gp who listens & is helpful, knew more about pmr than the other one who told me to massage myself with almond oil!!! Anyway had to see new gp for my knee which is still painful, he's booked me immediately for xray, certain it the old osteoarthritis having a bit of a flare up, but

I Saw a gynaecologist in July who decided to put me on mercilon

Falling to bits
Literally it seems, 4 fillings/bits of tooth have fallen out in the last few months. Is is just bad luck or linked to steroids or the alendronic acid I was taking for 2 years? What ever it’s an expensive time!

9 Healthy Nuts That Are Low in Carbs
Nuts are known for being high in healthy fats and plant-based protein while being low in carbs. Therefore, most nuts can fit into a low-carb eating plan, though certain kinds are particularly low in carbs. For those following stricter low-carb diets like the ketogenic diet, sticking to lower-carb nuts

Has anyone had pale colored stools as a side effect of ursodoil?
I take ursodiol 500ml 2 x daily. If I stop taking medication a couple days stools turn to normal color.

"It says here you have Osteoporosis"
Hello all. I was diagnosed with GCA and PMR in February and started with a 3 day IV course of Prednisilone then went on 60mg a day tapering down to 10mg in about June when I had a flare up, bounced up to 25mg and am now tapering by 2.5mg per month. I had a DEXA scan around about May time but didn't

Alendronic acid
Been to the dentist today cos have an infection under a crown. It’s got to come out but because I have taken AA I have to go to a hospital apparently. Even though I stopped taking it 9 months ago my lovely dentist said I have to be 2 years free of it. Just to make everyone aware. 🌸

Hi Friends, I am still hoping to find successful treatment for my wife's horrendous pmr pred side effects and skin fragility.
Last week a stumble against the bedroom wall whilest undressing caused her to raise her arm to prevent a fall but the friction against the wall was sufficient to tear a flap of approx. 30 sq.cm. plus an injury to her leg. Fortunately our local medical centre provided excellent first aid care and healing

Egg head and concussion!
Here we are then! As the title says that’s exactly what happened. So no running for me this weekend. While at work on Friday after returning from my lunch break I accidentally whacked my forehead on the metal door of one of the anaesthetic drug cupboards in the anaesthetic room. This had been left opened
