Here we are then! As the title says that’s exactly what happened. So no running for me this weekend.
While at work on Friday after returning from my lunch break I accidentally whacked my forehead on the metal door of one of the anaesthetic drug cupboards in the anaesthetic room. This had been left opened. Oh boy it hurt! I did swear I have to confess and colleagues were concerned as it was swelling up instantly. Infact I could feel it swelling .... ugh! Sick feeling! Anyway I didn’t cry just swore a lot quietly under me breath!
Anyway was sent home after first aid was administered ...ice pack , pain killers. I don’t know how I managed but I drove home which is over an hours journey. Got home and yes I did have concussion and have had a head ache all weekend. So no running for me.
I have a lovely bruise now and it’s still sore, not much muscle on the forehead!☹️
So I’m happy just to watch the great north run and rest! Will be back out there Wednesday.
Poor you, Peggy. I have in the past come up onto a wooden kitchen door which really hurts so a metal one would be even worse. I'm surprised you managed to drive home after that. Take care and don't run too soon if you don't feel right. x
Thanks joy! I must admit I surprised myself too. I just took my time and I think the adrenaline just kicked in and allowed me to get home safely because once I was home I was exhausted and feeling mighty sick!
Anyway I’m starting to feel better today.
Thanks so much joy for your kind words.
Hope your doing ok. Watching the great north run I’m starting to wonder if I could do that next year.ummm!🤣🤣
I did a lovely 5k on Tuesday, fast by my standards but haven't run since, for health reasons - not feeling great just now. Hopefully will get back to it in a week or so.
Oh poor you Peggy; I do hope you are feeling better soon. At least you’ve got an excuse for lolling around on the couch watching the GNR. Can you imagine running with so many people . Take your time going back to work and running .
I shall Dexy thanks. I must say I am feeling better but I have a lovely bruise on my forehead...well the left hand side. It is starting to be quite colourful ha! Anyway I shall be ok.
After watching the GNR I am now quite tempted to run it next year....well we’ll see!🤔
Oh, no! What rotten luck. Poor you. I did the same on the door of the cigarette cabinet when I worked as a barmaid way back when, so I know how painful it can be, though in my case I don’t think I was concussed.Snuggle up and nurture yourself with nice things to eat. See you back out there when you’re recovered.
Big hugs xxxxxxx

Hopefully will get out on Wednesday but I’ll see❤️💐🤗🤗
Hi Peggy, I've not see you about for a while, but I can see you've been posting, just I'm not on here often enough. I was going to ask how you're doing, but oh my, what an injury you had eh? 🤕 I'd be swearing too haha. Aww poor you. I can see from your last post now why you've had the headaches.
Sending you healing vibes and big hugs hope you're on the mend soon xx ❤️😘
Ahh! Thank you so much quirkybee you are so kind🤗Well I’m feeling and looking much better thanks. I’ve got 4 days off from work as my next working days are the weekend, so I’ll be back out this week. Yesterday I did some HIIT so that was a change and I did enjoy it. Headaches have gone so that’s brilliant.
Anyway enough about me how about you sweetheart, how are you doing?
Are you still running? and how far. Now the cooler weather is with us it’s better for running ...well for me it is.🏃♀️🏃♀️
Keep smiling quirkybee and look forward to reading your posts.🤗🤗❤️
Thanks for the hugs and healing vibes they worked😄😄
Aww, you're more than welcome Peggy. So glad you are feeling better, that bang must have hit you for six, never understood that saying though, lol. 🤣
I'm not running as often as I like. Just can't fit it in. I guess some may find that hard, but I wish I could. Like most, I work full time during the week, visit my mum at her home after work by the time I get home, sort tea, sit down, it's roughly 8.30 to 9 and I'm done then. Need to fit in a bit of study too and it's just impossible some nights. So I try my very best to run on a Saturday or Sunday morning early so I can fit in everything for the rest of the day.
I don't love running yet, but enjoy it and look forward to the good feeling factor after the run, no matter how crap I did, haha 😂
I've heard that HIIT is very good too, but I don't think I'd have much go in my legs, seriously need to strengthen them, I can just about cope with my breathing, even though it is another learning strategy. I have been given links by our lovely running friends on here which I'm grateful for too. 👍
Anyway, keep the good work up Peggy, I will keep in touch with your posts and thankful I came upon it yesterday 😊😘👍 xx
That’s good to hear from you. You are so kind quirkybee. I hope you can get to like running some time🤣🤣 but what the heck ! You seem to be doing enough running about with your family life as it is!
Anyway quirkybee take care of yourself sweetheart and keep reading the posts and please keep posting too.
