Hi all I am grateful that after 19 months since i developed pmr symptoms I am feeling a lot better and have gradually reduced over the months from 30 mg (think gp went a bit over the top with that dose because i was on 25 and when i reported some blurred vision and headache she upped it . I saw optician

Same old question - withdrawal or flare?
She asked my GP to explore other reasons for the
pain
such as fibro,
arthritis
, even though to me it was typically rheumatic
pain
. My GP ignored the letter - I have since left that practice after so many issues.

Passing out from period pain
Hi, I am new to this group! I have always struggled with bad period pains and last year after many years of being told to 'grin and bear it' had keyhole surgery to investigate for endometriosis. I was told there was no evidence of it, although from previous internal camera investigations, I was told

how long will the pain last
Asher the bone removal yesterday it felt so good. But towards bedtime it started to feel a little different and I tried to ignore it. But once again I had to wake up for painkillers. This must be pain after the removal of the the bone yeh? How long should I expect this for? Anybody any idea

Pain after menopause
Hi all, I haven't been around for a few years. A brief back story. I had always suffered from painful heavy periods, since 16 years old. Numerous visits to the doctors over the years, being told it was normal or later on as I got into my 40s being told it was to do with the menopause, I finally got

Thanks gang
Just a big thank you for all the good wishes. I had at least five hours sleep last night and since 8 am have been easing off on the painkillers. Now down to gently niggle with occasional stabs so hoping another good night should see us over the worst. Still no idea what I did but time seems to be

pain medication
I have the complication of having a chronic back condition which means I am in pain all the time. I take gabapentin and co codamol and also recently ralvo patches. Last year and earlier this year, I suffered a heart attack, so now cannot take any kind of anti inflamatory. My GP worked with me last year

The MRI scan
Hello, As you're all so kind in answering my many questions, I just thought I'd update on the MRI scan (pelvis) and hopefully if anyone who is awaiting their first one is reading, give some insights. Firstly, making sure to have no metal clasps on clothes was helpful so no need to get changed into

Total knee replacement
well I have finally been put on the surgery list for a total knee replacement, due within 9 months. I am being a bit of a scaredy cat about it as unsure of the risks .I will see if the anaesthetist will do a spinal anaesthetic and not a general as your suggestions on here 12 months ago before really

A and E Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh.
Woke up at 5 am Sunday morning with severe pain under right shoulder blade which remained all day despite maxing out on paracetamol. In the evening I dug out some codeine tablets I had for sciatica last year and added those with similarly little improvement. Monday was more of the same except by now

tooth extraction
my problem still hasn’t gone 😞. It’s been 3 weeks since my tooth extraction and it got infection .. hfmd has bin and gone but the toothache seems to be there still! Can it spread to other teeth? Coz I feel like the pain has spread to teeth on that side. Still have to take painkillers. Made an emergency

Is there any way of saying "Enough", I do not want to receive anymore medical care or medications, they are doing me more harm than good!
The medication I am receiving is causing me more pain than anything else! It is getting worse, more endless appointments, more reactions, more pain, getting ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE! I just want to stop all this treatment, just bare survival medication, I have at least three life threatening conditions, medications

Pain medication advise - Gabapentin
Firstly, I understand no one can give medical advice. But any help in the right direction would be gratefully received. I have a knee replacement followed by a manipulation last week. I didn't get to speak to the surgeon afterward but my discharge notes said I needed adequate pain relief. I am struggling

endometriosis ?
for the last few years I have had sharp stabbing groin pain moving down my upper thigh and sometimes to my foot. I get sensitivity to touch on my thighs when I have flares which happen during ovulation and before my period. I also have stabbing upper abdominal pains (no pattern to the abdominal pain)

Coping with the pain
Hi Guys, Hope everyone's having a good a day as they can. Ever since my lap in July 2 2and diagnosis of endo stage 3 with cysts. The pain has been horrendous, much worse than it was before. I've repeatedly gone back to my drs to ask for pain relief or some help in anyway. Apparently they never

Advice or anyone suffering with the same......
I have
arthritis
& fibromyalgia, apart from the constant
pain
etc I've started getting a sharp pain on top of left foot, I put foot down (not necessarily from sitting to standing) but I will get a sharp, sudden pain on top of foot where I nearly fall & have fallen once due to how intense the pain is.

private vs endo centre?
hi, I’m in the fortunate position of having private healthcare through work. I had likely adenosis and long standing deep infiltrating endometriosis identified through an MRI about 9 weeks ago. Initially I said no to surgery (because I was a hit shocked on the call and didn’t know anything about it)
