Carbamazepine and POP pill
I'm not sure what group to write this in but does anyone know about the interactions with carbamazepine and desogestrel. I'm taking the pop pill to stop my periods as they are horrendously heavy and painful. Now I'm about to start Carbamazepine for Trigeminal Neuralgia, I'm wondering if because the efficacy

doxycycline and reduction of arthritis symptoms
Though the tablets upset my stomach badly, after week 2 I noticed my
arthritis
had all but disappeared. Usual routine of waking up in
pain
, taking Prednisolone 10mgs then waiting an hour or two for the
pain
to subside has gone.

Good-bye and thank you all
I have not been on here every week. Sometimes not for several weeks. But then when meds get changed and the cancer changes, I would come back on. Many of the ladies on here were helpful and gracious. They understood things that my friends could not even comprehend bc they were not the ones battling

Taper 5.5 to 5 with a little pain. Continue?
I also have the return of the
arthritis
pain
in my hand, which I had before but I understand that the Pred is no longer cushioning that so that's okay. I also have been experiencing fatigue but that's understandable too with the taper. Started on Pred July 2021. Down from 20 mg to 5.5 now.

Which Artritis
😔one of my fingers really swelled up after painting a long fence it was so sore. Then a year later it started in the joint in the top of my thumb near my wrist. UK doctor said arthritis and test was negative for RA. Went abroad just before lockdown and doctor said RA without the R factor? He

Pain - where my pain comes from!
(I had a fraction of inflammation) I said to the specialist one day, why am I in so much
pain
, yet no inflammation in my joints, (common with psoriatic
arthritis
, happens in different joints across the body) this is where the
pain
normally occurs.

GCA/PMR for over 5 years. Pred down to 6mg . Been taken off Tocilizumab but can’t tolerate other steroid sparers. Had appointment with Rheumie and blood test. CRP high so PET scan arranged. She has put me back up to 40mg as inflammation showing in all usual places. It feels like back to square 1. Has

got covid bad,do I stop arthritis meds.
hi, been 3 days since tested positive on lateral flow. I'm currently on benepali and strong pain killers though the illness is bizarrely making it less painful to move. This version is supposed to be just a cold but I feel alot worse. Does anyone know about biologics. Should I stop?

Low ESR and CRP levems
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone can explain to me why some people get high ESR and CRP readings and some don't?! I'm one of the don'ts! I have been in such awful amount of pain and had my bloods done in advance of my rheumatologist appt next week. My ESR came in at 41 and CRP at 33, both essentially

unfortunately it now seems I have a diagnosis of Rheumatoid
Arthritis
as well. I’ve been really unwell with severe
pain
. Still waiting for an NHS appointment. Paid to see a Private Rheumatologist and I’ve also had an ultrasound scan.

TENS Machines and AF
Hi, I recently posted about painkillers (for Femoral Nerve pain in my case) and the myriad potential side effects including heart rhythm problems, which put me off taking any painkillers at all. At an appointment with a physiotherapist today I asked if a home TENS Machine could be used to alleviate

Latent arthritis or PMR
I have had PMR for five years, with classic shoulder and hip symptoms, initially and during flares. Never been able to get lower than 8.5mg Pred until this year. Now down to 6mg. Always slow taper - max 0.5 per month. Over the last month or so I have had increasing arthritis in hands. It is quite

please help. Desperate.
Before I start, this is definitely going to be a long winded one but stay with me here if you can 😂 I’m absolutely desperate for some kind of answers, advice, similar experiences - literally anything to make me feel like I’m not going completely insane. I’ve just turned 27 last month, I have 4 children

Hi. I am suffering terribly with back pain recently and I don’t get on well with pain meds however even I know I can’t function like this it’s agony. The gp offered me codeine morphine etc but I can’t touch those or ibuprofen style medicine so I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed alternatives
