First Video Rheumy Appointment on Monday
I haven't seen the Rheumatologist since last year, so I am probably due for a consult. I have a 1.5 hour drive to attend the Rheumy clinic, so if the video appointment works, it will be a relief. How do they do a DAS though, taking my word for 'I don't have any joint tenderness or swelling' probably

Now taking Alendronic Acid because of need to take Steroids. - Advice please?
I have just been diagnosed with Giant Cell
Arteritis
and am currently on a dose of 60 mg Prednisolone daily. On my GP's advice I swallowed my first ever Alendronic Acid tablet on Sunday - having sworn never to take Bisphosphonates!

New Kid on the Block
Hi,everyone, just joined the group and reading the posts really feel for those suffering with fatigue, something fortunately I have never had with P.M.R..I do however get flare ups with SEVERE pain mainly in the neck and shoulders.Difficult sometimes to know whether its P.M.R. or a trapped nerve or pulled

Nose bleeds.
Hi. I’m new here. I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and have recently started on methotrexate. I am having lots of nose bleeds. I was wondering if this is common and wether it is caused by the treatment. Does it go away ?

Are there new treatment for rheumatoid arthritis?
I have been taking the tocilucimub injection for over 4 years to control the rheumatoid arthritis pain. It worked for one year but now I suffer from constant pain and joint swelling. All blood test looks normal but joint pain and tendinitis comes and goes week after weeks. My Rheumatologist is only

Arthritis in the spine
Hi I have cervical spondylosis and we needed a good spinal support mattress as my husband too has a bad back, we have an Emma which is just right, it’s supportive but soft too, especially for my spine as I have now just been operated on and the support is amazing. Good luck

concerns about ra and osteoarthritis
I have had ra for 25 years it has been well controlled for most of that time. recently i have had pains in hips and lower back, X-rays show degenerative disc in lumbar spine and hips. I am wondering if ra may cause osteoarthritis to become prominent.

Running with arthritis?
I am a little concerned about my knees. I have suffered from arthritis in them (in remission) but as yet they haven't completely flared up with the running. I know in the past they would have done. I wear support on the worst one. I am being careful, I'm just worried that I'm being foolish running, but

Pain
Have had pain in my hands and less so in my elbows and shoulders for several months. My GP has spoken on the phone to me and been given voltarol gel which helps a bit. Blood tests show raised inflammatory markers and rheumatoid factor. Have been referred to rheumatology as GP thinks rheumatoid arthritis

The British Psoriatic Arthritis Consortium is working with the James Lind Alliance to run a priority setting partnership (PSP)
They are looking to create a national top 10 list of research priorities for psoriatic arthritis. They want ideas and thoughts from people with different experiences and backgrounds: people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, their families, carers and clinicians. This is your chance to make sure

Week 8
And just like that I have completed 8 weeks of couch to 5k - actually ran the whole 5k today in 47:38, not impressive to most but for an unfit overweight 50 something woman living with Asthma and Arthritis it’s amazing 😉 for those that have read this far I have also lost almost a stone in weight while

Confused and lost
After various scans over the following weeks I was confirmed with having giant cell
arteritis
. The symptoms eased but never went away even though I was put on 60mg of prednisolone for starters. Sadly the rheumatologist wasn't interested her attitude beggared belief.

Hi, can someone help with describing what the double vision element is with GCA? Most of the time my eye sight feels ok... except at certain distances say watching a game of football I see two copies of the player.. if I close one eye it’s ok! Also when driving I don’t necessarily see two cars as I wouldn
